On the palm, you can just touch and hold, then drag something to where you want.

as for starting them with a number, you can just numerically prefix them like Star Wars1-blah Star Wars2-blah The sort will still sort on the first different character (the number) but you can bury it down in the letter sequence to keep it alphabetized.

Everyone Exaggerates

I have more star wars content than just this, how would I tell them apart without the description being viewable? This is a huge oversight.

You only have X displayable characters. Why do you have to spell out STAR WARS in the title and waste the significant real estate.? I'm sure you'll figure out how to abbreviate things which lands them in the order you prefer.

Wow, what an incredibly shitty solution. Yes that would work, no I shouldn't have to use acronyms for my videos.

in Itunes, I just sort by the item # in the list, then move it around in the order I want.

Blammo.. done. at least on the computer. Not sure if the iphone lets that order transfer over or not.

Did I post a screen shot of itunes? The problem is how they're displayed ON THE DEVICE, not in the shitty ass synch software they make you use.

Very intuitive device to use, very craptacular if you want to paint outside the lines at all.

There are ways to re-arrange content, but you don't want to jump through the hoops - So take it back and get a windows phone. Problem solved.

no there arent, that's the problem. I don't want to have to give my videos fucked up names like FSWTJP1, that's hokey. Aside from that there is no "fix".

Yes there are. Click on the # column and then place them in the right order, or delete the list, recreate and add them in the order you want. So far, it seems like you've tried nothing and you're all out of ideas.

I've done this in itunes. They're in the right order. If I want to jump to #5 I have to count each one to figure out which it is? It's not a list I created. This is a list generated on the device based on videos stored on it.

If you don't have an ipad/iphone/itouch with this application please stop trying to help, you're not giving any useful information as you are guessing how it works not speaking from any experience.

Not a solution regarding ordering your files, but have you tried flipping the device horizontally? This might display the full title and if I remember correctly without scrolling up that was one of your concerns.

what other 'application' are you using.

BTW, the list# and delete/recreate list also came from a windows/iphone/pod forum site's suggestion as well.

turning it horizonitally does not change the orientation unfortunately. when I say application Arch I mean the "videos" option on the device. No 3rd party anything.

If I do a search within there it changes the view, why can't the view be like this all the time!

I just have a Video file on my iPad and they are there - No concern for me of display order

Whats worse is why I have so many star wars videos, but that's besides the point. I like to watch 10-20minute clips on the train then I take a nap.

also I dont really care about the ORDER, I want to see the whole name or at least MORE of the name.

Not sure what your looking to do. But it seems your titles have part 1, part 2 etc in them. Do you need a full character list and Roger everts review of the movie from 1979 as well in the title toque your viewing choice? LOL

Try the vlc app, it's better than the standard video app. You then load all your movies/content in iTunes under the apps tab when you touch is connected. Give you more control.

HDTony.... Damn glad to meet you!
