$250 Android Tablet

I've had two coworkers pull this off, one with a gtablet and one with a nook. Anyone else had any luck with anything else. Supposedly the Nook shares base hardware with the Galaxy.

you get what you pay for. I have a $200 tab i got from work and it's a POS compared to my galaxy 10.1 tab.

i have an ipad... it was a gift, so didn't have to pay for it.

but i've always thought hacking these ereaders for android was cool. and the fact that there's a project to be able to root Honeycomb is even cooler, since that's android's OS specifically for tablets.

good luck and keep us posted if you go that route.

I have a nook color running CM7, if your looking for a full fledged tablet get an iPad. if you want a book reader with occasional tablet use then the color nook is an option.

Wait until at least the Samsung 10.1 is out (within a few weeks). That, and the Xoom, are the only worthwhile Android tablets on the market thus far. All others were premature.

I rooted my wife's nook color. I have two set ups for it. One is just stock rooted, it is nice for getting the interactive children's books from amazon and the android app store since they are much cheaper there. Set up two is CM7 running off an sd for when we want full tablet use. Just got Netflix up and running quite well. The great thing about the nook color is it is nearly impossible to brick and you can run the full roms from the sd and change them out as often as you like to try out new stuff. There is no camera, but I have no need for that. Hell, with CM7 the bluetooth is even unlocked which no one even knew was in there.
