Bought a Tablet (Asus Eee Pad) - Need Input

Ok all knowing CLSB. Help me out.

Bought this tablet which is sweet (after much research).

I'm not at all familiar with the Android market, interface, etc.

How would I go about getting some movies and books onto this thing (and I mean the free kind, whether downloaded, or if I want to get a dvd on here).

Any help is much appreciated!!

Yes, I do have a gmail account (although I don't use it ever, it's been around for a long time). I've synced that already so am getting some apps from the marketplace straight off the tab while connected to wifi.

Yes, I do have itunes. Just need to figure out how to get the songs onto the tab. That and how to get books and movies on.

The Samsung 10.1 seemed nice....but after a ton of reading about these things, it seemed this one was either the best, or tied for the best.

I really only need it for checking my email while traveling (like at the airport), watching movies/reading/listening to music while traveling. I can do the music on my ipod, the rest this will cover.

If you already have the movies / music, just connect to puter via the usb and copy paste. That is what I do with my tab.

Yeah, it's sweet, I'm just not a technical junkie.

I did figure out how to rip/convert my DVD's, and get them onto the tab. Now to figure out how to get downloaded type movies onto the tap.

That and some free books to read!!

P.S...thanks for the links geomoto.

Oh yeah, the thing comes with like a 5 page manual, and it's about 4" by 4" big. There's not info in it at all!! Guess they think people using them are privy to the internet and learning. I did find a nice forum for this tab that I'm starting to learn a ton from.

android - plug in, drag and drop movies/music from any pc at any time.

ipad - install itunes on the one and only computer you want to sync with your ipad for the rest of its life, download a new update to itunes every week, hope it doesn't crash or lose your music files when the new update installs. then put in a credit card number, then you can install stuff on your ipad.

Syncing with iTunes will be a thing of the past very soon with iOS 5

Yup, about a month ago I double click Itunes, and it opens...empty.

Start doing some research/googling, and it's not that uncommon. Basically iTunes forgot everything and I had to re-load all my music. Worst part of it all is that I rate my songs by the stars, and I use that most of the time when picking songs to play. Had to go back through and rate every song, and while doing that create my playlists again. Very time-consuming.

Love the Asus, or whatever you want to call it. All together it's the Asus Eee Pad Transformer w/Android Honeycomb 3.0 (now on 3.1). Pretty long name.

I did not get the keyboard for it at this time, though it's very cool. I've now got some movies and music loaded on SD cards, and eBooks loaded right on to the tablet. The app to control your PC desktop is very nice and works very well.

I wondered how iTunes would work moving songs on the tablet (because iTunes creates that dumb sub-folder of it's own or whatever), but everything worked flawlessly.

Overall very happy with the purchase. Some of these have light bleed, and some have a clicky case, however mine doesn't have any of the issues and is perfect right out of the box. Everywhere was still out locally except for Fry's in Schaumburg, they had a ton in stock. Lots of websites were still out of it too, but I guess Asus was shipping on July 8th so stock should be replenished now. I normally would have gone Amazon, but they were out too, and I wanted to get this in time to get comfortable with it before a vacation we're taking.
