Here is the original release from Android Police:

http://www.androidpolice.com/2011/10...ses-much-more/

I'm familiar/acquainted with the developers who found this.

The vulnerability itself is quite significant. Whether it'll get exploited anytime soon remains to be seen. The thing to keep in mind, is that the only way this can get exploited, is through a malicious app. It is unknown if there are any apps out there in the wild, that can take advantage of this exploit, since it was just uncovered - but some will inevitably crop up soon. If you don't install any "sketchy" apps, you'll be fine.

If you are rooted, the solution is also very quick and simple.
