Is there any satellite mobile Internet service provider for remote locations.

I am going to a lot of remote BFE locations where even cell coverage is none.

Is there such a company that I can slap a satellite receiver on the top of the truck and USB it to my computer to get 3G speeds for Internet?

Not really. you could tie into a satellite phone but now your talking serious money.

your better of with just a 3G iPad and be done with it. hope when you get back tot he hotel you have wifi or its new a highway. (most cell companies focus their towers to keep major highways covered in rural areas)

The problem with satellite internet is that your dish has to transmit, and that requires precise aiming in coordination with the satellite manager. The equipment necessary to set it up each time isn't practical for individual use mobile earth stations.

I can expense it all. But I rather have it where I can take out into the field and also personal. I am thinking a Verizon since I think they have a wider coverage? (I assume I still need to check) ipad2, get that Verizon wifi station and Bluetooth printer. That and bring in possibly my laptop to
Run DeLorme for all the map
Routings of our pipelines. I have a garmin roof top receiver booster and a hand
Held to mount and tether into my lap which means I can jump in and out with it to walk off when needed

Just trying to go the best route work and personal then expense it all.

I figured you would know too since we gotta roll around in a
Mobile command then convert to in the field portable.

Get a Verizon iPad. No separate box needed.

I dont believe there is an unlimited plan for Verizon and it's month to month...2G for $30, 5G for $50, 10G for $80.

I've rented a few satellite phones working out in the bush in Alaska. You do not want to see the bills on the usage. They are insanely expensive.

Even expensed the cost of a satellite phone and or dish capable of decent speeds would be ridiculoso. We have a few of the phones and one big ass dish on top of a Tahoe and it isn't cheap.

I setup and used few different units for internet/voice in the sandbox. You aren't kidding.

Besides the fact that for internet, that shit does have to be pretty precise (so forget about using it on the go), there is no way you can expense it Ken Seriously, within 6 months I was over a million dollars, and we're talking light use...

Had to google it for the civilian sector... aside from the $6k initial investment, $80/month for unlimited sounds too good to be true:

Though also probably too big for whatever you're driving
