iPhone 4S help...

OK, my boss bought me an iPhone 4S in place of my aged Blackberry. The whole team wanted iPhones but me. I'm quite happy with my EVO.

So far, I'm not super impressed.

The one thing I do like; the camera is *nice*!

So how the F* do I upload photos from the iPhone 4S to Facebook, and Zenfolio like I do my EVO??

I loaded the Facebook app figuring that's what I needed to do, but I still couldn't figure out how to send photos from the camera to Facebook.

I'm probably looking at it wrong, since the EVO made it so easy for me. I'll try again and see what I see.

Open FB app. Towards the top of the screen in the center is a Photo button. Click it. A window will popup asking you to take a new photo to upload or to chose from library. Easy breezy.

He wants to do it the other way. Snap a pic and share it from the preview.

Exactly. On the EVO I snap the pic, it's up on Facebook in 60 seconds. With the iPhone I'm clicking, clicking, misclicking, undoing, re-clicking, then wait 2 minutes.

I just uploaded my first photo...what a PITA.

I'm downloading the Zenfolio app...maybe this will be better.

It doesn't appear that the Facebook app integrates with the Camera/Gallery. It's not an option to upload straight from the camera/gallery.

I don't think so, I also liked that feature on the bb. I guess if one knows that they are taking a pic with the intention of sharing it on FB, then open the FB app first, click on photo, select the option for taking a new pic and then uploading it.

That's what I wasn't sure of since I haven't used an iPhone for more than 10 min the last year or so, but it sure looks like that's what he is looking to do.

It is the same on android as BB, snap the pic and in the preview you can share it to any number of places. As long as you have the FB app installed it is in that list.

I honestly can't believe they didn't integrate this.........Maybe it is an iOS thing. Can you send to any 3rd party apps from a pic preview?

For some reason, Apple decided to allow you to "Tweet" your pick straight from the camera, but not upload to facebook.

Unfortunately, this means people have to make 1-2 more taps on the screen.

Looks really easy to me, open FB app, tap Photos at the top, add from library.

If that's too difficult for you maybe you should go back to a regular phone.

It's not that it's difficult its that my ancient BB can do it and BB is hardly known for it's media prowess, it really does come in handy. Maybe a future release will integrate it better.

I'd blame FB and not iPhone, sounds like that's where the issue is.

I'm kind of confused on what the issue is. So on your old BB, you would:

1. Open camera
2. Take picture
3. Select picture
4. Click upload to facebook

On the iPhone, you can:

1. Open Facebook
2. Click Photo
3. Click Take photo or upload from gallery
4. Take/select photo

Is there really a difference? It seems to make sense to me that if you want to upload a picture to Facebook, you'd open facebook. I'm pretty sure that it automatically saves it to your gallery on the iPhone as well when taken through Facebook.

The difference is this, I decide I want to take some pictures:

On non-iphone
1. open camera
2. snap pictures. (first is junk, second is junk, oh this third one looks really great)
3. upload picture to facebook from camera interface

on iphone
1. open camera
2. snap pictures (first is junk, second is junk, oh this third one looks really great)
3. open facebook
4. upload photo to facebook
5. return to camera to take more pictures

Fixed that for you.

Why would you open the camera if you want to upload it to Facebook and not just go directly to Facebook?

Sorry, you caught that before the edit. I removed that because I felt it sounded to adversarial. I didn't mean it to sound that way.

You're still not getting the point though. The lack of integration shows lack of foresight.
