New cable modem help

I just purchased a zoom 5350 cable modem from best buy to replace the comcast and get rid of the rental fee. I called comcast and got everything setup but im still having some problems. Sometimes it wont connect to the internet immediatly and other times I get this error, Error 105 (net::ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED): Unable to resolve the server's DNS address. I have the mac addressed and modem activated through comcast but its proving to be not reliable. All my settings are automatic and setup according to the instructions. Any idea's what causes it to sometimes not connect then works fine?

poor DNS response time to resolve lookup for hosts.

what are the DNS servers that you're pointing off too?

I think my default settings for comcast are using:

Primary DNS 75.75.75.75
Secondary DNS 75.75.76.76

you can switch to pointing off to OpenDNS or Google DNS servers to improve network lookups if you're having problems with comcast performance.
