Chrome vs Firefox

Chrome has come a long way in the past year.
Much better than FF.

Recent convert.

I too, recently switched to Chrome from FF. FF had just become too damn bloated and slower than Chrome. Plus Chrome has a lot of nice little things that I appreciate, such as pinning tabs & their task manager.

The one thing that still sucks about Chrome is that it sometimes has issues with proxy servers. This isn't relevant to most, but at work I'm behind a proxy and sometimes it'll spin on DNS lookups.

Look up Google Extensions. Lots of cool stuff there.

I can send things from Chrome, directly to my phone. They have an extension that helps me search images (I can even right click an image and can search for higher rez versions or modified versions of a photo). I have my "personal" settings synced between my work laptop, home laptop, home desktop, and phone; so no matter what computer I'm on, I have all my favorites, themes, and extensions.

I'm sure there is much more to Chrome I've not touched, but I'm very happy with it. If/When Google ever gets their desktop OS out, I'd be happy to try it after my good experiences with Android and Chrome and Picasa and...

I've been using extensions in FF for a while (including to Chrome/FF to Phone) and that's one of the main reasons I stayed with it. Happy to see nearly all the same extensions in Chrome now.

Chrome's native debugger is SICK. Right click -> Inspect Element.

Firefox seems clunky in this age of browsers and Chrome just feels right.

Switched to chrome for all the same reasons I originally switched to fire fox. Ff became too bloated over the years and chrome is quick and slick.

I couldn't keep FF from crashing so I converted about a year ago.

I dig Chrome but the bookmarks are WAY too hard to access/use on here.

I use Chrome at work, but I actually prefer IE9. I use Chrome at work since I'm stuck using IE6 for some apps we have. I used FF for a few years but with all these damn upgrades and slowness I switched to Chrome.

I don't deny MS and Apple collect data. We know Apple just got in trouble recently for this subject. However it should have been Google.

Google's sole purpose is to collect and sell data. That is not the case with Apple or MS. Google is the most sophisticated data collection organization on the planet. Google does it better and at a scale much greater then anyone else. Google also does it by offering FREE products. Though they also do it by selling Adwords. Buying Adwords is equivilent to bribing the Mater D or dropping a hundi to bypass the line at the club. Google makes billions selling YOUR data. They know where you eat, where you sleep, your hobbies, your occupation, your ladys name and what you text her, where your travel and for how long, on and on... Governments and the NSA have approached Google for their data.

I also don't deny that chrome is a great browser and android a great phone (except for battery life, total lack of security, and script kiddies writing apps written in grandma's basement ) Lastly I think if you can detect a performance difference by the seat of your pants between IE9, FF or chrome with basic HTML rendering than you are spending too much time on a computer. You should be spending quality time with your lady or riding your bike.
