If you're sick of looking at all those lame ads on websites (including CLSB).

Simple, install this.

I allow ads to come up on sites like clsb, but i block them on youtube. It even works for those ads before the videos. Been using adblock for a while now.

You realize it's my right to block whatever content I choose on my own browser? Just sayin...

and I think we covered the whole cost thing a few years ago on running a forum. Which I've done personally. Also, don't you charge for "Marketplace" advertisements? That should easily cover any costs.

btw, I rarely sit on here all day.

Some are pay per view, some are pay per click. not trying to be a dick about it or anything, just saying is one ad really that annoying, its not like I plaster the page with them, like some sites.

If people didn't block the ads, there would be enough money to remove the "merry christmas" banner a month after the holiday.

The adds don't bother me when they are like how they are here. The ones that pop up and you have "X" it out to do anything at all, those really annoy me.

This or the retards one that pop up when you mouse over a word in a sentance.

Dont care for how some sites make ads all the way up one side and across the top and bottom leaving such a small area for what you are looking for.

I'm not crazy, my mother had me tested.

I have no problem with ads on CLSB, they are limited to banner ads and not pop-ups. They keep the site running for all of us "special" people to have a community.
Now those ads on other sites that fkin pop up like crazy or the others that pop up when you mouse over key works....fuck them. I have no problem using software to try to kill them, these are people who are trying to make money from ads on their sites, not trying to just pay for site hosting.

More often than not, those sites are owned, by a company out of Canada. a few years back they went on a buying spree and bought power sports websites all over the place including SBN and cycle forums. they plaster them with adds to make money.

One thing I always liked about CLSB is that we have no annoying animated avatars or banners in signatures. Also the dark background is so much easier on the eyes.

Ahhh old Vertical Joke, err Scope. Half the sites they bought died although I do bet that it wasnt because of VS but a certain group of "members" who fear mongered people to their own sites much like what happened on CF. Non of the "pay to post" crap ever happened that they claimed would. I find it funny how those members who screamed about CF being sold to VS never so much as said a word when SBN was sold to VS and yet they still post there happily.

I'm not crazy, my mother had me tested.
