iPhone 4 Issue

So, two weeks ago or so, my iPhone started to stop playing music. It fades out just like a call is about to be recieved and it stops. I can't find a rhyme or reason for when it does this, just seems to be completely at random.

It doesn't matter if it's a stream or music stored on the device.

I've also done a software update since and it's still doing it.

Any ideas why it's started?

Ciao,
Lupi

Get a Mac...sorry, couldn't help myself.

My only advice would be to take it to an Apple store and have them run a diagnostic on it.

Bring it to the apple store, you'll probably get a new phone.

I assume you have "Cleared" it and then re-opned it? - Power Up & Down? - Reset the Phone itself?

Not anymore. Supply is rising again, so this likely won't be the case.

Have you tried restoring FROM ICLOUD BACKUP? Your itunes backup could be corrupt. A restore should fix the issue.

maybe it's confused on routing audio from speaker to earpiece? did you try plugging in and removing headsets to see if that clears it?

Don't switch to a Droid because of that. Do this. If you do a restore, you will have two choices. To either restore from a "Backup" or restore "as a new iPhone". Make sure you restore as a "new iPhone". Yeah you're phone won't have any information on it but sometimes when you restore "from backup", that backup actually contains something corrupted which is brought back to your iPhone once you choose that restore option. So do this:
- backup iPhone
- restore
- restore "as new iPhone"
- then sync (sync will pull all your info out and out it back on the iPhone. Just don't forget to backup your contacts using "Windows Contacts" or any other service you're already using)

Hope that helps man. Ive been in the iPhone scene for about 3 years and am into the whole Jailbreaking and unlocking so I know things that most basic users won't know. And that's the biggest thing, is the difference between "restoring as new" and "restoring from backup".

Good luck and share results! Any questions let me know
