Universal Remote app

I HATE my harmony POS remote. Never works right and I always have to go back and switch around inputs/turn on devices/etc. Anyone have a recommendation for an app for that?

spend the time re-programming the remote and you should eliminate 90% of the issues. For the remainder, use the help button on the remote and you can address any issues from the couch.

I know this is what you were looking for, but those are my . Subscribed to hear any other input from the local AV geeks.

Harmony 650 is what I have. I've programmed it several times, contacted customer service and tried and tried. But evertime I sit down to use it, the programs don't work they way they were programmed!

Some tv's, blu ray players, and av recievers have an auto on and off and other various controls. Male sure all of that is off.

trust me, I've been through this all with Ligitech support. Heck, I'm not really all that technilogically challanged to begin with. The POS doesn't work right.

I have the L5 remote app. It's good. You can just take the device's remote and point it at your phone/tablet and gets the code that way. You need the plug I think I paid $15 for mine.

Shouldn't have cheeped out on the 650. My Harmony One has worked flawlessly for 2 years now. Yes you have to hold it at the setup a bit longer as it goes through its macros to get everything setup but I can live with that. Perhaps thats your issue? Are you moving the remote or putting it in the couch before stuff is actually on?

LOL....no! My issue is every time I program it to do something it does something else. I contacted Logitech and they even programmed it for me. It still did something else! Seriously, the thing sucks.

It was a gift and I'm not really concerned about cost. But I'm not buying another harmony when this one no worky!

My harmony isn't plagued with that old problem of turning things on or off out of sync. But if you have problem, turning everything off with the off button then back on with the corresponding activities button should fix it.

Of course it's line of sight, so if your components are blocked it won't work. I have all my stuff in a cabinet with a repeater and blasters. Works perfect and looks clean.

http://www.logitech.com/en-us/produc...y-link?crid=60

i use the link with my iphone/ipad. in my family room and have a 650 remote for the theater room.

the link is a lot easier to use and the ipad app especially is real nice. there is another manufacturer out there just like it and i forget its name but its about 30 dollars cheaper then the link, but is battery powered only. the link is ac powered so i never need batteries again. will some day do the same in my theater, probably when my remote dies

There really is no difference between the 650 and the one functionally speaking. I know there are differences but the software works the Exact same. And actually I'd prefer any of these remotes to the new touch model. The buttons speed up the processes. I actually have the link too which is cool if you have an ipad, but the app was too buggy, which sucks cause that really is the best remote I have seen.
