Turned my TV into an Android tablet

Though the CLSB geeks would find this useful.

Picked up a 40" LED TV over Black Friday for $200.

Bought a MK802 IIIS. Its a full blown computer in a USD flash drive like form factor that you plug into your TV's HDMI port. $60.

Runs on Android 4.1/1.6Ghz Dual Core and adds all the capabilities of any of the latest Android tablets (1080p screen/video playback, Google Play apps, Browser, YouTube, Wifi, BT, the works).

You can control it from your Android phone/tablet or using any wireless keyboard/mouse.

It's a much neater alternative to Roku/Apple TV, etc.

You better be nice to America or we will bring democracy to your country.

Very cool. So with this you can watch flash vid and YouTube on your TV just as you would on a computer? Basically anything your browser can play?

That's slick. So it shows up as a wireless network on the phone? Or is there an app that you use and it goes over 3g? Or do you have to phyiscally plug your phone into it? Not clear how you can control it from the phone.

"includes 10 used-car dealers or auto repair shops, 11 liquor stores and bars--two of which advertise lingerie fashion shows and a third billed as a "gentlemen's club"--three cut-rate motels and one trailer park. The squat, brick municipal building is next to a currency exchange and a few steps from an adult video store. The bars open at 10 a.m. and close at 6:30 a.m."

You can watch YouTube through the YouTube app in up to full 1080p. Your TV becomes a full blown Android tablet with apps and everything.

It has Flash too.

There's a dedicated app that you can download for your phone or tablet that allows you to control the cursor on the TV or use the virtual keyboard over the same WiFi as the Android device.

I don't really watch TV. Ended up buying this one because it was dumb cheap (40", LED, 120Hz).

Download directly. Google Play works on it like on any other tablet.

In the end all it does is turn a non smart tv into a smart tv. rather use a hdmi port for something else

Yeah but he'd have to spend $200 vs $60.

Thanks Gone In 3, it's a cool way to use a non-smart TV

where do you get he only spent 60? he clearly said he bought a tv for 200 and 60 for the little gadget

In my math that's 260 for a smart tv

That's your math, in your mad at the world mind. I could say more but won't. I'll allow you to continue to blossom the infamous, Acerbic, C2M Swag.

He said he already has the Tv, nothing he can do about getting another Tv, let alone a smart tv, that size, for $200.

My dad ended up buying the same unit. Aside from the painfull 3 week shipping, he loves it, and thinks this is going to completely replace his dedicated media computer he had hooked up.

As for smart-tv's, their software blows chunks. Shit ain't smart at all.
