Dont know what you got, but try this:

http://www.intermute.com/spysubtract..._download.html

On the right side there is a link to download the stand-alone version of CWSShredder(FREE)

If your using IE, try the free Microsoft BETA anti-spyware too.

Go to the NOD32 site (eset software) and download the free trial.

Ya if you dont have virus software at all thats popping up telling you you have a virus, I'm guessing you have more than one. Chances are its an infestation. Buy Norton system works and install it. I use it on mine and my system is sparking clean.

Renew your norton subscription, run the live update, then run the scaner and let it fix the problems, then after all of that is done go to download.com and download spybot, and adaware, and run both of those, they will find what ever is making those popups for you.

Yup - we need more info to help you. I deal with many of the computer problems at work and usually things can be cleaned up. There are some cases where shit digs in so deep, you just can't get it out.. I've been beat up twice so far, with malware that I could not remove. After 5 hours or so and going through every single thing you can think of to clean it out and break up it's instructions or file structure to screw up it's operating ability and nothing works.. its just time to format.

Too bad they are so cheap. No point in bringing in a computer guy to fix all your problems if they won't pay for good virus protection. Without it, you're just gonna get back into the same bind all over again. Even with it, sometimes you'll get in shit.. but atleast you have a front line that catches/stops/filters most of it.

If it's your work PC, let them deal with it. If you cannot do your work due to it, tell your boss. What choice do they have? Fix the damned thing so you can work.

Scanned and came up with like 500 items! Should I just delete them all or am I going to trash something I need doing that?

BTW, I agree to get on Trend Micros site and use the housecall scanner. That is, if your computer is stable enough to be online for the hour or so it's scanning. It can remove some things for you, but most importantly it should tell you what you've been infected with. Write down everything it tells you, then go back to the trend site and read about what the infections actually do. Usually it will also give you removal instructions.

Once you're clean, try to make them buy a new A/V software... geez, I don't know how anyone can be online nowadays without it.

you call the number the chick gave you, then you can ask her what virus she gave you.

plus one on the download.com they have anti virus softwares

If you have cable or dsl, go to www.zonelabs.com and download their free firewall.
