Home wiring

Have any of you had your home wired up with ethernet cables? I'd like one port in each bedroom and in the loft and living room. I don't wanna do wireless as my main network because performance just isn't good enough.

I definately don't think I'd be comfortable punching holes and running cables through the walls myself. So I'd prolly want to get a company or something to do it. Anyone know how much this might cost me or what companies to contact? It's a 2 story 2 bedroom townhouse, maybe 1500 sq feet.

Not sure about the residential stuff...but you can probably budget about $175 per run (labor, materials, testing etc. included)

That "should" be on the high side, but at leas you know what you're looking at.

Any place you want a jack, run TWO cables. It's just as easy to run one than two, and you can never have enough. I'd personally run 3-4 to each jack, as you can use them for computer networks, audio speakers, phones, etc.
