Norton Anti Virus-Outlook Config

I installed Norton Anti virus on my new laptop last night and now Outlook will not receive any mail. It looks like I can send emails but not receive. It says the connection to the server has been interupted. I have the same everything on my desktop and I can send/receive on that one so Im assuming that it has something to do with Norton blocking all incoming emails. The error is 0x800CCC0F

Ideas?

Interesting...

Make sure that you don't have any kind of firewall running. I know that the firewall feature in Internet Security blocks emails.

If you are using a current version of Outlook you can do a test message in the account setup.

OK I went into Norton and UNCHECKED the box that says *Scan incoming mail* and now its letting mail in.

I dont want to leave this unchecked do I? Or am I still protected somewhere else?

I take it was working before you installed Norton?

In Outlook

Goto Tools - E-Mail Accounts

Then Select View or change existing e-mail accounts.

Highlight the account you are using

Then Click Change.

In the next window that opens you should see a button that will test the connections.

let me know what you get.

What OS are you running?

On XP you can view the Internet Security control panel and access the firewall settings from there.

Since you have Norton you can remove the PC cillin.
