Ipod video/movie help?

Hey all I am needing help I just purchased the Ipod 30 gig video an I want to put some movies on there from dvds. Some videos posted online. I am not the most computer literate person but I can follow directions. What software should I download? Is there any good free versions? I remember some of you talking about Ipods before and I tried a search but came up with nothing. If you prefer to email me my email is [email protected] Thanks in advance

please post info

I'd like to know how to do it too (hopefully not complicated).
Please list/explain any available freeware to convert movie files so that I can watch short movie clips(mpegs, etc) and movies.

thanks,
Al
