have you run ad-ware? www.download.com >> search for adware www.lavasoft.ru

they can they add sites into your "hosts" file to hijack sites
do a search for that file(hosts) and see whats inside(open with notepad/wordpad).

or get the Microsoft antispyware software (free)

I'd use a combination of freeware tools:

Microsoft Defender (Beta 2)
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

These are all on download.com:
Ad-aware 6 Personal
Spybot Search & Destroy
CWShedder
HiJackThis

It's probably still on there Kruz. pR0n spyware can be a bitch to remove, and it usually hooks onto explorer and stays there. FF is usually safe because pr0n hasn't figured out how to hook into it yet.

Have you clicked on IE and have it work properly? Then you know you've got rid of it.

FF is also susceptible. The concern is what the program is doing on your system. There are other concerns than just switching browsers.

For starters, make sure you're all nice and updated. There was a WMF exploit a few months ago and some have not updated. It will execute any code and completely without your knowledge...all you need to do is visit a site and nothing more.

The standard spyware programs should do just fine and you can get a free virus scanner called AVG
