iPod feature "sound check" i got a question.

so ive noticed tonight on the bike. that some songs were soft while others about blew out my speakers with distortion.

in my Itunes, i turned on the sound check, which calibrates all songs to sound equal.

OK

now on my iPod, do i also have to turn on that feature or no?

From what I have noticed after downloading songs from a p2p network, the songs that played at 128kbps 'which should be cd quailty' sounds alot better/clearer then say songs that played at lower kbps. I hope that makes sense. Are your songs ripped from cd's or did you download from a p2p program?

also, if you run the ipod through a secondary source you'll want to keep the ipod volume level at about 75 and then use the secondary to adjust for volume on the speakers.

to answer your question, if you want it sound like what is being produced from the pc you should turn it on 'ipod' also.

You can use equalizer on ipod, but will shorten you battery charge.
Preset equalizer in Itunes for some songs, and reload them to your Ipod.
That should correct some sound problems.

well i reading up in all things ipod.

and yes sound check does a minor recalibration of all the songs to TRY to get a better balance.

i tired it on the bike in the garage. it seemed to help alittle.

there is some other programs that people have been using. from the sounds of it. way more trouble then what its worth not to mention people messing up the ipods volume control and there saved music on there computer.

so for right now its a decent balance. some of the songs like blackeye peas are way to load. while others like stevie ray van ripped from a c.d. sounds softer.

funny thing is, almost all the shit ive downloaded was at 128 and i rip all my c.d.'s at 192

some of the 128 downloaded sounds louder then some of the 192 ripped c.d.'s

over all great method of transporting and listening to music anywhere with large amounts of storage.

gonna soon be uploading my outlook exspress to manage my appointments and give it a try.

That's correct but it's related to sound quality. Can we agree that with higher kbps songs you get more highs/lows 'quality/clarity'? Then why not the oppsite.

I've noticed when ripping CD's that the older ones are alway quiter than the newer cd's I have to crank up my IPod when a misfits song is playing and turn it down when a system of the down is playing. I think it has do do with the levels when they first record the album
