Outlook Express question

My dad uses Outlook Express. He has noticed that whenever he replies to an e-mail message that the original message is removed from his in-box. A copy of his reply shows up in the sent folder, but I think he would prefer to also have the original remain in his in-box.

I looked at it a while, but I don't use Outlook Express. I'm guessing it's something simple. Help?

Thanks for the suggestion, but I didn't see anything there that looked like it would change the problem. Oddly, I think the problem has stopped. I'm not sure if I did anything to fix it. The only thing I did was uncheck a box that said "delete meeting request from Inbox when responding." To be honest, I don't think that had anything to do with the problem.

The problem he is having now is that I'm not sure he is automatically receiving e-mail. Is there a way to set it so that it sniffs for new e-mail as soon as you sign on?

Sigh.... wish I could get him to use Yahoo or Hotmail!
