Tracks Eraser - Windows Washer

Does anyone have a totally FREE - no adware, spyware - cleanser for Windows XP? I was using the original Windows Anti-Spy Beta 1 tool w/ "Tracks Eraser" but they removed it from the new version.

I like to clean-up every week - and this app. was nice...

I searched Google & I'll buy a cheap one if I have to, but I don't trust any of the "freeware" stuff I found... they are so loaded with advertising... there is NO WAY I am DL'ing any crap from any of them...

I miss the old days of the net when cool geeks made simple free utilities for to help protect gamers and researchers from advertisers and spies!

adaware from lavasoft has a free utility, but it's not a constant monitoring program, it's more of a hey you click it it updates, it goes out and scans your shit for spyware. also, check housecall.trendmicro.com.

Ad-aware from lavasoft (there is a free version). It is ad free. Also, Spy-bot is free and ad free.
I have been using both for about 4 years now. Never had a problem with either.
Neither one will "monitor" and remove or prevent spyware on the fly but if you run it once a week, you should be good. I run both and sometimes one will catch some that the other does not (depends on how current the ad list is at the time of scan).

Spybot this is my first choice

Ad-Aware another good one.

Yea these 2 are all I use. Realistically, pending on your browsing habbits, you may not need to run them that often. I check my system for spyware maybe once a month. But that's because I don't visit any strange sites and I pay attention to what I'm d/l off the P2P networks. If I really am unsure, then I run VM, but that's a different ball game.

I don't trust the free stuff either.

Hey Troy, I don't use any of these but since you're a comcast cablemodem user, you can download these for free:

they might suit your needs....
