Disaster Recovery

Anyone using Sonasoft for Disaster Recovery?

Including Exchange mailbox replication, SQL, File Server, Active Directory and stateful registry backups. Also helpful if you using it to back up a middleware type of App Server, and/or using it for failover.

Any comments or gripes about the solutions performance and reliability?

There are sooo many vendors out there... our BCP guy just showed me these guys ( www.rescuesquad.com ) They come out and write scrips on the backup tape so that they can expidite your whole Data center recovery.... that scares me.... who is their QA? Code Testing? Comprimising other code, etc...

Let me know about Sonasoft if it works out for you. We are currently bringing everything back from disk.

I wouldnt think that would be a good solution unless you have some good coders on staff due to the dynamic nature of the data structure. I am gonna trail the sonasoft and do some testing in a lab environment, tape has been very reliable in the past and successful in Disaster situations, but too slow and really no option for failover without manual intervention unless youre clustering all the serverers with online backups with load balancing and replication-my company doesnt have deep enough pockets for the additional hardware, but they want the functionality.
