My dell, IR, and my PDA

So I have my desktop, dell dimension E510 and it came with this little infrared box that works with the wireless remote they sent me. is there any way to configure this infrared box to work with other devices, such as syncing with my PDA?

HDTony.... Damn glad to meet you!

chances are the IR box they sent you will only work with the remote, however there might be an IR port on the laptop that will work with the PDA, but IR is very slow, and probably not what you want

ok who said anything about a laptop. yes those do have ir ports which I use all the time to sync with. I am talking about my dell desktop, and for some reason usb has never made a connection. so I figured getting that ir box working might be good.

I doubt it but I'm not sure if that remote device shows up as an IR port in the device manager, it might. You can try configuring your palm sync software to go thru IR and see what happens.
