My 3 PCs at work are down all weekend every weekend. Aside from that, I use my PC at home for too much to have it down all day on a Saturday.

Government's view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it.

Large amounts of Crown special reserve, and Tullamore Dew in a decanter and ample supplies of beer helped

Why can't my company do this on a weekday so I can take a day off? I'll propose this at our next meeting.

Un-Plugged

Why should we have to? I mean I have an active social life and when I'm not doing that I'm on the pc. Best of both worlds. Did a wine tour 2 weekends ago, bought 7 bottles of wine and had a great time with friends. That was 2 days no pc. I mean it's not that bad for me. It's like any hobby. I can walk away from it to do something else enjoyable.

I think it's simply a unification. It's why one religion takes a day off of something here or there...not necessarily to simply prove that you can, but to simply do it.

Yea? So? Aren't all these machines on the same power strip? Just push the red button and they all shut off at the same time!

I can, but it is very hard. I went on a camping trip in college, and went through serious detox for the first 2 days. I missed my computer, internet, Tivo and Xbox, It was bad. After about 3 days you will be able to relax and deal with the loss of technology .

Yeah, I can do it. I can go weeks without a computer if need be. I don't see the point, though. *shrug*

Never a bad time to climb... unless the weather is really horrible, and then you climb inside!

Really...

Just one more fix...

I can go a couple days, but I live on it at work. I suppose I can email off my Treo, but why.

There is nothing firm, nothing balanced, nothing durable in all the universe. Nothing remains in its original state, each day, each hour, each moment, there is change. Change is the essence of life. Embrace change as you do life. To fight change is to live in the past.

Help make the next Shutdown Day even bigger!

Just popped out to the real world.

Back in 763 minutes.

We've teamed up with the National Laptop Foundation, a new non-profit organisation launching on World Earth Day, to help underprivileged children, the elderly and schools and doctors in third world countries have access to the internet, by recycling & refurbishing old unwanted & broken computers.

We want to raise $100,000 to help this cause and to start work on the next Shutdown Day and organise events in cities around the world. Please help be a part of this.
