What is the strongest wireless router out there?

My Linksys just died on me. Damn tenants are complaining they can't get their daily dose of free pr0n. So what should I get that won't break the bank.

That's the one to get...modified, it gets MAD coverage.

It could also help to get a Japanese WiFi card that has higher output then US cards.

I think that is what broke it. I flashed the DD-WRT ROM to it and upped the wireless broadcast signal to 70mw. It worked well for over a year but died today.

I use to use the Orinoco(sp) for that and has an external antenna for range that you can mount on the roof of the car or somewhere inside.

Cisco and an external omnidirectional would be the best. Of course it won't be cheap.

Or just go with a full "N" network. That new format is supposed to rock.

Dude, why did you push it so hard?!?! 70mW could be the reason why it failed after a year. I use a Buffalo w/ DD-WRT @ 40mW and the range is awesome.

I read 70mW was in the safe range. And the wireless part of the router still works. It's the wired RJ45 ports that all failed. That and it reboots itself quite often.

OK, I'm stupid. How do you push a Linksys? My reception upstairs and across the house in the family room from the router in my home office is weak. A little more boost would be nice. I put a high db antenna on it, but...

Oh, I'm pretty sure I have a WRT54G too.

You have to flash the ROM with DD-WRT firmware. Use at your own risk.
