Windows Mobile 6

I just got an AT&T/Cingular 8525 and it has Windows Mobile 5. I would like to upgrade it to Mobile 6. Dooes anyone know a trusted site where where I can download this upgrade? I can't seem to find it.

Also, is there any reason I shouldn't use Mobile 6? Thanks.

With the Black Majic version being popular. Use at your own risk though.

Hey Mike what do you think of the 8525? I been wanting one for awhile now. Do you carry it in your pocket? I was wondering the size issue as i carry my phone in pocket.

I'm sick of following my dreams. I'm just going to ask them where they're goin', and hook up with them later!!

Hopefully 6 is better, i got rid of my 8125 with 5 on it as i constantly had to reboot. Thing was constantly locking up. I would reccomend leaving it stock, the more you mod it the more unstable it gets.

HDTony.... Damn glad to meet you!

So far so good. The navigation with the buttons is a little different compared with the Palm. I think I just need to get used to it a little more. Yes, I carry it in my pocket. It is a little bulky, but not any more than the Palm 650 I had before.

Tony, it hasn't locked up on me yet and I've had it for about a week. 6 should be out soon. I think I'll wait for the official upgrade from AT&T instead of downloading one of these "pirate" versions. HTC has a firmware upgrade that allows you to close a program when you tap the X like a normal computer. Before I used to have to go into settings/system/memory/running programs/close all. That was a PITA!

ICS doens't work with the current'y leaked version, but it's mostly stable.

That said, I'm waiting until AT&T releases a supported WM6 version fot my Blackjack. HTML email will be a nice change.

The new 3G network is a lot faster than the older Edge network that my Palm supported. It's not quite broadband speed but it's very fast for a cell phone connection.
