You're a Trackhead when this happens...

When you start seeing the cost of anything you buy, away from the track, as being equal to the cost of a track day, or tires, or brake pads, or knee pucks, etc...

Today, I went to the Dive Shop to pick up my new 100 CU FT high pressure steel tank for doing deeper dives. I picked up a couple of other things, and when I went to check out, the thought popped into my head that all of this shit is equal to two track days. Why the hell are our hobbies so damn expensive?

However, I am going diving tomorrow on the SS Milwaukee Car Ferry. 125 feet down, and tomorrow will be beautiful. Of course, it'll only be about 45 degrees water temp. (here's a sample of where we're going)

I sold all of my diving equipment when I moved 16 hours away from the ocean. I don't get this non ocean diving thing.

Fresh water diving is great! Too bad I sold all my dive gear back in the '80's when I was broke and starving in New York City. Enjoy the Milwaukee, Jim. 1/4" wetsuit or drysuit?

Hell, I cancelled the cable service and put up an antenna, because cable cost was equal to several track days a year.

I did that before. Flying is an exspensive hobbie. That's why I haven't flown in years.

Yeah, I don't think I've had many cheap hobbies. But it is fun to do aerobatics or fly somewhere for dinner.

Eclipse wanted me to make an extra move at work a few days ago. He explained that if I did it it would pay for a track day. True story.
