Chili cookoff - BHF Airfence fundraiser!

Labor day weekend, Sept. 4-6

I'm posting this in the general track day section because I'm calling out to everyone that rides or races at Blackhawk... nesbians, STTians, motovidians, and CCSians alike.

For the past few years, NESBA has been hosting the Chili cookoff at Blackhawk to raise money for airfence. As everyone can obviously tell, it's been a huge success. Thanks to the previous year's cookoffs, large sections of airfence have been catching riders and bikes in T2, T4, and T5 for ALL the BHF motorcycle events. I know, I'm one of them...

So just as a heads up, please make sure to try and contribute in ANY way possible. A pot of chili, prizes for the raffle, or just a nice big wad of cash. I know it's the holiday weekend and there are a few other events, so even if you can't make it, try to send something with a friend that's attending - after all, it's OUR track that we're all making safer. We've managed to raise over $15k in the past 3 years and we're hoping that we can top the $20k mark this time around.

NESBA will be on track for 3 days, Sat-Mon, but the cookoff will be on Saturday night. Bring the whole family!

Jordan

Yes. However, put BHF in the comments section so the donation is earmarked for BHF.

Chili cook off is a great time and is for a important cause. Like Jordan said track riders from all the trackday and racing orgs benefit from more airfence. Just ask to check out Jordan's leathers, he's got blue ink on them from the airfence that caught him. Its a great time to come checkout the after hours seen at BHF.

As everyone has already said, chili cook off is an awesome time for a GREAT cause. I've had at least 2 friends caught by air fence this year alone and both walked away with relatively minor injuries. Can't say the same would've happened if the impact was with a tire wall.

For those of you who need an image to help...hopefully the individual involved doesn't mind a picture re-post.

Come out, have fun, support a great cause!!!

In the picture kim posted notice the rider was caught by the LAST bag of airfence, this is why every single bag we can buy matters, adding even one more section could really save someone's butt, I wouldn't be suprised if that section that the rider hit wasn't there before the last cookoff.

I don't disagree but that picture is decieving. That's where she laid down, she was up moving around for a bit before that.

Deceiving or not who cares. The air fence is important. To many people have been injured because air fence wasn't in use. We're clearly to stupid to stop riding on the track, so we need to save ourselves from ourselves.

Come on out and support the cause. The money raised from this event goes toward air fence that is used for all motorcycle events. Nesba staff doesn't need to come out and maintain it, store it or repair it. BHF staff is kind enough to do that for us in exchange for the good gesture. Whether you ride CCS, Motovid, Nesba, STT, PTT, or sneak in at night on your fiddy, that air fence is there for you! So put your allegiance aside for one day of food fun and festivities. Come out and participate or just enjoy the event. Come ride the track day or just come out for the evenings fun. Heck, this is a 3 day event! Come ride till you drop!

Whatever your reason for riding track or motorcycles, we all have one common goal here. Safety. So gather up your friends and come on out! I know the last few years CLSB'rs have organized a group ride to come up and watch the last few sessions of the track day and hang out for the event. THANK YOU!

In the past, we've had some great donations for raffles. Track bikes. Dirt Bikes, Autographed memorabilia, free track days, vinyl number kits, tools, too boxes, dyno tunes, etc.... It's a chance to help out the cause and be greedy to get some cool stuff for yourself!

If anyone has something they'd like to donate to the cause, feel free to contact me and I'll put you in touch with the right people. It's a family fun event so there's no reason for you not come out.

+1 that picture was taken after the rider walked around. They hit the airfence right where the bike is.

But like Greg said the more airfence the better.

:

I heard the rider was so discombobulated that they didn't even remember getting up(or grabbing a piece of the windscreen) - guess it was the adrenaline that had them bouncing around like a nutcase, but once the adrenaline wore off they went ploppy. The corner worker also told the staff that if the air fence wasn't there the rider would have been air-lifted out of there for sure.
