Team Chicago?

I have been looking around for info on the school to see about signing up for it, but I haven't been able to find any solid info as of yet. Anyone have any ideas or info if it is even happening this year? I know there was that other thread that Team Chicago got mentioned in, just wondering if there is any more info out there other than rumor.

Thanks.

Better then the second weekend

I think I'll go. Anyone wanna show me around? Remember! The track could be wet. It could be very cold. There could be snow on the side of the track.

The goal is. Learn the rules. Learn the flags. DON'T CRASH. That's it.

See you there. Who's staying for the Sunday trackday? Grattan bar on Saturday night to celebrate everyone that passes?

I think Marr is looking to go. If someone has an extra spot to take her. I have my kids that weekend so no way they will want to sit around the whole weekend at the track with cold temps.

Grattan's site now has it listed and the extra trackday that follows. Team Chicagos site dose not have it listed yet, or have an application as of yet. I'll be keeping an eye on it though.

Ahhhh the frozen snot weekend. Bring your long johns and refrain from pushing it. Tires rarely get warm that weekend. Sunday is 75 to ride all day. If it's nice I'll head up for sunday.

This school is geared towards information on racing. You will not get a lot of seat time
Saturday. It's basically a licensing school with off the bike instruction all morning and 3 sessions in the afternoon.

Sunday is an all day test and tune.

Grattan is a tough track and very technical.

if i'm ready to roll by then i'll try to make it. if ccs is heading there this season, it'll be good to learn where the track goes before i race it.

so it's only $30? trackday on sun is $75?

Not a bad idea. You will want some laps here to get acclimated. It's more like Barber or Heartland then it is Blackhawk or Putnam.

I haven't been there in years! Damn I'm old.

The event info is at Team Chicago's site

It is held at this location: http://www.grattanraceway.com/

The price is listed in the first link as well as info on what is needed.

I have not done this school before, but have heard good things about it. That is why I am going. It is more of a race school, not as much of a trackday experience. For that you might want to try NESBA, or one of the other riding organizations out there like STT or Motovid. All the info for the riding organizations are listed on their sites.

Oh and welcome to a future addiction, if you have more questions check out the whole track forum. Many questions have been asked and answered many times. But if you don't find something go ahead and ask

So what's the deal with Sunday? I see there is a practice fee, but what is it? And it says it's only open to licensed and certified riders. What does that mean?

Well I got the new truck, will fit 4 and gear easy. So if both you fuckers want to go, we can try to fit 3 bikes on my trailer, or see if we can borrow someone's. I bet I can get an enclosed from someone if we need to.

Its just open practice, no CR, no real rules except don't hit anyone...

If you take the class on Saturday, you are a certified rider. If you have a license ccs, wera, ama... you are a licensed racer.
