Chicago Local shop to upgrade suspension?

Would love to use Kevin at Safety First, but I need a local shop to upgrade the suspension on my bike - after 2 track days last year, I intend to devote more time to this new found religion and want to do it right.

I work downtown but live north of the city. There used to be a motorcycle race shop in Skokie years ago, but it looks like they went under...

Any suggestions? Not even sure if exactly what I need new shock? Forks? Rebuilds and/or cartridges? Need to do some research. I change the oil, but I'm far from mechanical and need to just pay someone to hook me up without draining the bike fund too badly.

All help appreciated and hope to see many of you this season.

- Dan

Ken at CP - Chicago
Joe D. at Turn One - Rockford
Ken at Superbike -down south ( Joliet? )
Scotty Ryan w. Trackside Suspension ( just across the border in WI )
Matt Drucker w. MDR ( down south west by Davenport )
Jason Farrell w. Speed Tech ( Oshkosh WI )

thats the guys I know of and would work with...

I live in the northern burbs and Kevin just picked up my bike for service. He is in town every couple weeks and working out of a space in the northern burbs. Send him a PM to schedule the work.

Take care and ride safe,

What about Redline in Skokie? I think they are on Ridgeway.

Will do. And thanks everyone else for way fast feedback.

As for Redline, I think they do old Kawasaki's and not much more, at least not modern supersports - I may be mistaken. I brought them my old Shadow 700 about 7 years ago for some work. Nice shop, but not what I'm looking for.

The place I was thinking of in Skokie was 4&6 Performance (I think) but I number I had for them was disconnected. Maybe they moved?

4 and 6 went under during the recession i believe

Everyone needs a healthy way to relax, mine Church, and two wheels, a stretch of winding road, and a pipe loud enough to give me headaches and make squirrels explode. (Fixed curtousey of PWRMAD)

Nothing is impossible the second we say ill try your already admiting you can be defeated, and the second you say i cant or its to hard youve already failed.

Unreal. Stan, I may ask you to give the Daytona a looksee too. Dealer is going to replace the R/R for free (they are nice - it's a new to me last season '06), but you never know.

When I get you the bike for Kevin to install that shock, maybe we'll do some things. Maybe some better brake pads, maybe some lines, depending on what I do at the dealer, maybe play with the tune. There's some freeware for tuning Triumphs I have but have yet to try out. I'll call you.

And Germany, what the fuck?

So Kevin is great on the communication. Already shipped me the shock and hope to have him install it at Stanimal's on Thursday next week. Very nice.
