car weighs 1000lbs with driver, and has 1500lbs of downforce. that means it could drive upside-down.

Here's a mind blowing one for you. The fastest time at Road America is a 1:39 in a champ car! Fuck me running that's fast. I don't know what it is on a bike but I think a 2:10 is around the Superbike laptimes?

Im sure that car has a much stiffer suspension than our bikes. It has to because at speed it's weight increases by 1.5 times!!!!!

bumps dont matter because everyone has to ride the same track. its gives the track another dimension because u try out some different lines. smoother line vs shorter line ect. also u can try out some suspension setting to make the bike more stable over rough sections ans so forth.

people always complained about south being so bumpy. i liked it the best. more technical and fun to ride.

No No I did a 1:03.6 (maybe a 1:03.7) or something in '05 on my MD Racing build, Michelin shod Ohlins Thermosman suspended R6. (which is the record there..and since we don't race bikes there anymore it still stands). :-)

The bikes are better and the tires are better...plus I'm a better rider these days...I don't see it out of the question for a 600 to lap under the 1 min mark.

Eh....without an actual race with an actual race promoter with timing equipment it wouldn't be an "official" record.

So to answer your question probably not. Tho the bikes, tires, etc are much better then 6 years ago so doing a sub 103 wouldn't be all that hard. (Like I said, doing a sub minute on today's stuff wouldn't be out of the question) If CCS/WERA or someone goes back there to race, you bet I'll beat my record. It's really hard to try to go near track record pace at a "track day" and it doesn't make a lot of sense. You always have to ask yourself the good ole reward/risk question.

So I guess, we'll see. :-)

i understand wat yer sayin dan, it would not make much sense to go for a
track record at a td, even without the absence of official timing. most riders
don't circulate even close to 6's let alone sub 6's at acc north. i was just thinkin
it would have been cool to watch, say if someone was to gopro yer bike for a
session. ha

Do you think the condition of the track would have an impact on how fast you could go? The condition of autobahn is a lot worse than it was back when we raced there.
