BTW you don't need all that stuff for a first trackday, leave the oil and all fluids actually at home, you shouldn't need much in the way of tools either. You're not going there to work on your bike, just ride it. Used the extra space in the car for a big cooler full of LOTS of water.

I'm going to have a big cooler. I always take tools and fluids. Would be a stupid thing not to have just in case, IMO. I have a history of breaking shit. Like everything I've ever owned. That's why I am picking my bike up from CP this afternoon. This will be the shake down ride. Who wants to follow me in session 1?

BTW, is there a schedule published for this weekend that I didn't see anywhere? All I saw was the 'typical track day' outline in the FAQ section on STT's site.

added the other items to the list.

thanks guys.

Are you staying overnight? Don't forget some form of a pillow. That truly SUCKS! It sucks even worse when you forget the sleeping bag and it's down around 50 degrees.

One good thing to have with you is some Mole-Skin for areas that might get blisters or become tender...like your big toe from shifting. Also a roll of 1/2" medical tape to make sure it stays in place under your sweat-soaked socks.

Moleskin

-Sunscreen
-Insect Repellant

Most important: An open mind and no ego to protect.

Have Fun!

I try to allow myself to be very 'coachable' while analyzing what I am being told. Seems to be one of the big keys to getting better at any sport.

i bring a decent set of basic tools
pliers
safetywire stuff
3/8 rachet set
a couple cresent wrenches
and a shit load of zipties and ductape
oh and any specialized tools for wheel removal like the hex keys for the front axel

as for fluids i limit it to what fits in a milk crate,
1qt oil
chain lube
brake cleaner
premixed waterwetter coolant-1 gallon
octane boost just in case
brake fluid

much more than that and its probably a problem bigger than i should be tackling in a parking lot
