Sippin the R6 juice...

Seems like everyone is jumping on the R6 Koolaid so I figure I might as well get on board...

After selling my bike last fall and taking the year off I'm back. Picked up a 2008 Yamaha R6 for next years track attack aka Superdawg Cup 2012!!

Is yours going to be solely a trackbike?

Mine is more or less stock for now with the exception of a Dynojet PCV w/ Autotune, Leo Vince slip-on, and ASV levers. I'll probably only do the basics for the track this year...bodywork, ss lines and pads.

You planning to unload the 675 or rock it again next year? I know of a 08 GSXR600 that has 5K miles and is mint for a great deal in Chicago...

I've added nrc case covers, sliders and swing arm spools. I still have to install my tank pads and i have an AK-20 kit on the way with a penske double clicker. Still looking for bodywork and a steering damper. I also have a set of ss lines lying around i will install. Maybe next year I will look into an exhaust and Bazzaz or something similar.

I'm glad you pulled the trigger on those suspension bits... You're not gonna find a better deal than that all winter. I've got some baseline shock heights for u too, so gimme a ring before it goes on the bike.

That is hard to argue. Post pics of your R6...boobies optional. I'm offering sitting space on my R6 for female boobies to rest on. No umbrella holding necessary.

Ugh.. thinking of converting a street bike to track duty makes my wallet run away.. I did this last year but i got a killer deal on my zx6r if your using it for track i believe there are still a few already modded for track, hell Jordan had a guy back out on him so you had a chance to get a 70% done bike right there, but i think he just delivered that one. I've def learned my lesson about buying a street bike to convert thats for sure. either way nice bike, r6's are pretty damn good out there, only reason i don't have that bike is because i was more comfortable on the bike i bought.

Someone backed out on Jordan's bike?? That dude must be an asshole! I will argue this point all day long about buying a used track bike. For me I decided I didn't want to go that route. I could have bought Farrell's bike for close to nothing. I wanted the piece of mind the thing was not run hard, crashed, had a title, etc. Plus I'm not decking mine out with all the fancy bits you did right away with yours.

I almost bought a stock ZX6R as well, but in the end I have always liked and owned more Yamahas than anything. Can't wait to attack the Novice group!

After riding a 675 a few days earlier, this thing feels weak as heck in the low RPMs. The Triumph 675 is a badass bike and I liked it a lot. I got this bike for a real good deal and I'm a cheap fak so you know I wouldn't buy it if it wasn't cheap For me I always wanted an R6 since the bike came out so I wanted to try one too LOL

i hear ya, no argument really.. i don't mind buying either because i'm mechanically inclined enough to fix it if it breaks, not saying that your not yourself (because i don't know that answer) as far as them not being run hard on the street, i would never want to buy half the bikes from ppl i used to ride with, esp after watching what they did to them bikes are bikes, if they're gonna blow they're gonna blow, its just a matter of knowing your seller and how they maintain them thats all
