La Yamaha accusa la Honda

maybe this season won't be so interesting after all I ran across this on the CE board - good stuff!!

Apparently Yamaha is crying foul on some laptimes, specfically two Americans on Hondas And with the way they've been calling it quits early at these tests it wouldn't suprise me!

Italian website

here is a rough translation:

......"The times they communicate are wrong"

It's more than a month to the beginning of WW2004, but between Honda and Yamaha there are already sparkes. David Brivio, team manager of the house of Iwata, accuses Honda again "to make up" the times of the free tests of these days, in order to communicate them wrong to the press.
According to Brivio, to Phillip Island, Edwards and Hayden would have gone more faster regarding how much was declared. "Honda had a greater advantage of what it has made to be transparent".
9th capiter of the infinite rivalry between Honda and Yamaha. Revolted is David Brivio, team manager of the Yamaha and craftsman of the Rossi passage to the house of Iwata, launching an accusation to the eternal rivals. According to Brivio, the Honda would communicate to the press of the times higher than that effectively it realizes in track, in order not to make to understand to the adversaries what are the true potentialities of the machine of Tokyo.
In practical, the advantage of Honda over Yamaha in the tests of these days in Australia, to Phillip Island, would be much advanced regarding what Honda wants to make to believe. Brivio does precise accusations: "Edwards and Hayden have turned faster" - the team manager says - "finishing the simulation of GP with a greater advantage regarding what they wanted to make transparent". A bluff, one pre-tactical.
Above all an accusation that still more renders vibration to the wait for the WW. From april they will not be able to bluff. The times will pass to the track'........

Ever hear Rossi in a post race interview? The language sounds just like him... except he says "its possible" in every sentance.

Maybe we can show the world that Americans can ride!

Never a bad time to climb... unless the weather is really horrible, and then you climb inside!

Wow...so Honda is trying to down play the potential of their machine to give rivals a false security. Sounds like a great strategy! I don't really think this it's unfair to more "conservatively" estimate your laptimes.

Yamaha needs to focus more resources on improvign their machine, rather than complaining that Honda is misleading the press.

Yamaha would do the same thign if the tables were turned.

Southern boys sandbagging so they can just crush Yamaha at race time? Tell me it's not so.

There is nothing firm, nothing balanced, nothing durable in all the universe. Nothing remains in its original state, each day, each hour, each moment, there is change. Change is the essence of life. Embrace change as you do life. To fight change is to live in the past.
