RA April 24th and 25 CCS - FUSA

I'm curious who's racing that weekend. I plan on participating, and partying at Seibkins after the races.

I will for sure do that. I'll be racing against you on Saturday. I think I'm going to gear the SV a BIT taller for RA. Where are you guys staying. I have a room booked at Seibkins.

Yeah you definately need to gear it taller than you would run at blackhawk or you might run out of gear down the front straight. Not exactly sure where we're staying but I got a few friends who are working on that. I thought one of them said we were staying at Seibkins but that place is a dive. Good for stumbling in after a night of drinking at the bar though. Did you pre-register already?

Nah, I'm not that fast anyway. I'll just register at the track, I don't really care about grid position, just being on the track and getting track time is all that matters to me rite now.

Experience Experience Experience. Thats the name of the game when it comes to this sport.

Seibkins isn't that bad man. My friend Laura works for the food service at Road Amerca, so she's hooking me up with a room for cheap.

Usually theres a whole bunch of Foreign exchange students staying Around their.

Yeah I guess it's not that bad. Our problem was 4 guys in a tiny ass room. Have you noticed how the floor slants down? I kept thinking that I was going to slide out of the room and off the balcony while laying drunk in bed.

Yea man, I know what you're saying. I thought I was in a polterguise movie when I woke up. I took down one of the paintings on the wall. It was scaring me. It was a painting of a doll, it reminded me of one of the CHUCKY movies. I was like screw this painting, its coming down. The floor is a bit slanted to. Theres alot of history behind that place. Thats funny you thought you were going to slide out of the room.

I'm busy on Saturday so that's out. Friday is the race school, I may take part in. One good thing about RA is the throttle jockeys that can't turn don't usually come into contact with me (figuratively and literally). The 10mph difference in cornerspeed doesn't make up for the 2-1/2 miles of straight. The only spot I might catch them is the bends. That bike plays hell on the liter bikes since they tend to throw the back end out on the exit.

I have a feeling at Blackhawk it would be a mess.

Well, I just email Mr. Bruer about the track school. I'll be heading up on Thursday night after work. I may stay with a friend in Random Lake to offset some of the cost of this.

I could use some help unloading the bike and can certainly return the favor.

I might dive into a couple races. I'm more interested in endurance racing than sprint races right now. Maximizing track time for the money spent. And since my lap times suck, it's better to be consistently slow but still on two wheels than fast but crash even once.

Where's that endurance racing team thread? I'd be a pit crew/backup rider. Some guy that goes out when everybody else is too tired to

Chris

I'll be up thur night after I get the stuff from Seibkins at 3-4pm. Look for my trailer . Cant miss it. I hope the "I Beat Kim" banner is finished by then.D

BTW I usually try to get near the pit road next to teh hot pit fence (near teh gas pumps). Since I camp, if ya need a place to park the bike for the night, I'll have room under the canopy)

Grover, are you going to mess with taller gearing on the SVS?
I'm thinking I'm going to. Worse case scenario, i'd like to redline in 5th and be shifting to 6th at the top of the hill on the front staight. Anyone got any ideas?

Sad story huh?

I'm so damn slow I'm never close to redline in 6th gear on the straights. If I remember correctly, I do click it into sixth on the back straight, but only for a couple seconds before bikes start flying at me in the braking zone.

I'll keep gearing stock for the SVS. SVS is A BIT taller geared than the naked SV. You have any spare rear sprockets I can buy? I'm toying with going down a couple teeth for blackhawk, gratten. More grunt out of the corners since I'll never get even into sixth on those.
