What makes you a racer

I snagged this from over in the CCS forum... I'm not sure if I should laugh or worry.

-----------------------------------------------------------
What makes YOU a roadracer?

So I pondered today as to what defines "me" as a roadracer. Here it is... Now let's hear your story...

Motorcycle parts in 5 rooms of my house
Motorcycle parts on display hanging on a wall
Complete room dedicated to hanging wood
Dedicated tow/race vehicle not used for any other purpose
>$2000 in metric tools, <$50 in SAE tools
Spouse knows what a cush drive is
Standing line of credit at 4 vendors
All purchases (including clothes and food) are counted "against the race budget"
95% of my vacation is used on Fridays
$1000 checks sent to suppliers with a note "this should get us started"
Career viewed as "part time gig" to help out the race budget
Business travel scheduled around remote race weekends
Enough gear to fully equip 3 riders (including back protectors)
60# son figured out how to put bike on rear stand
Purchased house based on garage stalls available (5)
Relocation only considered based on proximity to race regions
Have +10 racebike pics in office
Have +6 roadracing world magazines in office
Own at least 8 5 gal gas cans
Schedule meetings on Sliderphoto calendar
Pic of me in [email protected] as 'desktop' on work PC
Writing silly stuff like this.....

I put my leathers on and hang off my couch when watching races on Speed.

I play MotoGP3 with my helmet on.

I bow to my TZ250 sitting in my house before I leave the house and when I come back home.

It took me 3 years to learn the perfect line from my living room to the washroom.

I'm dropping .5 seconds a day learning new lines from my office to the washroom.

major purchases are considered in "number of tires" that would be...

I can easily patch anything fiberglass
I can easily patch holes in leather
The sound of high-revving sportbikes instantly causes adrenaline rush
$2 a gallon for gas still sounds cheap
Losing weight is no big deal
I have assorted aluminum plate, sheet and square tubing
My washing machine doubles as a stand for my drill press (and I find lots of curly bits in my clothes)
My car has safety wire on parts.

My kitchen is a fiberglass repair station... there is a motorcycle in my living room... my house is actually a garage with sleeping quarters and a shower... there is a stack of dead helmets starting to pile up in the corner...

I measure distance in minutes/seconds...

I've deferred car payments in order to pay for practice and schools...

I've stopped getting pedicures because $35 means I can add another class to the weekend...

I haven't bought a new outfit, or had 'lunch while shopping with the girls' in years...

ooooh Kim... you shouldn't work on fiberglass in your house. The fumes from the resin will kill ya. I'm sure you are well aware of it.

Talking You might be a racer IF?

YOU might be a racer IF you watch your kid ride his toy motorcycle and critique his line.
You might be a racer IF you think 401k refers to the redline on a 250 two stroke.
YOU Might be a racer IF you have Druckers and 4 and 6 on speed dial.

this is a couple I thought of who can come up with more and if i am threadjacking I dont mean to
with a big nod to jeff foxworthy

Ever do wheelies with your grocery carts? Ever square off a corner so you can get a better drive onto the next aisle? Ever treat other shoppers as rolling chicanes? Ever slide the rear end of of your shopping cart coming out of the corners?

That one is really funny:

Yeah all my car projects are on hold

Still have fiberglass resin dried on my fingers.

paint job contains rattle can's labeled "safety yellow"

my pool table is covered and has a plank on it so I can store my
bike stuff and have a horizonal work space.

Slider photo calendar, guilty

I'm always tweaking my lines when walking around at work, so I can get a good drive off the corner.

I mumble "Dam backmarkers" to people walking /driving slower then me.

ok only 9 motorcycle pictures at work.. (If you don't count the suzuki one with a bunch of bikes on it)

I skipped the Nascar Bristol spring race this season so I could have cash for riding school...

Oh I almost forgot... Sometimes I actually see the bike on the
"where's the bike" threads

... I"m not even a racer
Somehow this is Kim's fault

Guilty.

Also was involved in a grocery cart race in Atlanta when we raced SCCA down there.D For some reason, we got kicked out of the store.
