Back Protector Group Buy?

I know some of you got in on this last year. After bumming Sticky's over the weekend, I'm thinking it's time to get my very own. If there's enough interest out there, we can see what group discounts might be etc. If not, I'll do my own shopping.

Also, if anyone has some feedback on what they like (Bohn, Tecknic, Knox etc.) I'd appreciate it!

I'd be up for a better one. Knox or Bohn preferably. I've got the Teknic 4 plate (think that's it).

I have a Bohn. Got it from a NESBA vendor at Summit Point. Got a good deal. Don't remember exactly how much. My wife got it for me as a birthday present, but it was much less then anywhere else.

Lotsa votes for Bohn. I'm okay with that as well. Anyone that remembers doing this last time recall what the prices/quantity discounts were?

Gee...I never thought of that Whit!

Once we get the wish list and head count together, I'll check in and see what kind of deal I can strike with my mates over there. If there's better to be had online etc. so be it - but I'll toss as much weight around as I can!

(always checking out the angles...I like that about you man)

Just remember Bohn and Knox protectors are single use. Once you've fallen they have to be replaced. Some of the ones like Sidi makes, Dainese, Teknic, or Helimot are multiple use protectors.

Back on topic. That's good info Bill. Thanks. I'm assuming that's b/c the construction of the Bohn/Knox works with some kind of crush pad (similar to helmets etc.?) Granted, I hope I never have to use the thing - even once...but that's still something to consider.

Thanks.

I could use a good one, I would probably be in too depending on version. No need for multiple use, but I am 6'3" so I need one that is adequate for my height.

I think the single use would be better than a multi use one. Although I don't want to try my theory out.

Still waiting for the interest level. I'm guessing (just like the previous thread) that we'll fall short of the minimums - especially if we offer a variety.

Should be too big of a deal though.

I'll try to track down the prices (that I can get anyway) by Monday. If anyone wants to scour the web and look for prices there - that would be helpful.

FYI I'm starting to think multi-use myself. That 7 plate Tecknic is growing on me. (my wallet anyway)

I'm not looking for one but thought this might be some useful info.

I've got the Baun Cool-Air Pro Racer,
These are supposed to keep you cooler in your suit but it is the only one I've ever used so I cant say too much about it one way or the other,

Another thing make sure you have room in your suit as they take up some room (more then some smaller ones)and can make the suit too tight to tuck comfortably.

Unless you find a plce that will offer a discount on multiple bacl protectors, I doubt you can get one together. Most places offer a group buy on 1 kind. and it seems like there are many people here that want something differant. Some want racer only, some wannt multiuse, some want sew in kinds, etc.
