Post RA CCS races......

Lets just say I'm not exactly happy about CCS at RA right now (as are MANY other racers).

First thing (not CCS caused), my bike tipped over in the trailer on the way up. Just scratches.

2nd, Paper I got said reg would open at 3 or 4 pm thursday. Didnt open until 6.

Now for the races.

Friday. Basically everythign was decent. Got 24th in GTU. Not too thrilled about the 88 bike field. Team challenge didnt start until 4:30ish (scheduled for 3pm). No idea why. They actually had to cut it short to meet the 6pm cerfew.

Sat. Another day going well UNTIL the riders meeting. All day friday and all practices we exited at turn 5. Then some brain child decides EVERYONE has to take a FULL cool down lap and come in on the pit lane to get off the track. Nice WASTE of 3-7min PER RACE. Found out it was to "prevent" cheaters in supersport races. WHY not have a guy down at turn 5 doing tech there for the ss races? Our scheduled 5 lap races turned into 4 laps. Race 12 and 13 had to be run sunday. Finished 33rd in mwss. Only people that lapped me were AMA guys.

Sunday. Where do we begin? Rained at night. Heavgy FOG until 10am. We reverted BACK to exiting at 5. When we finally could start, our races got cut to 3, yes THREE laps for CCS races while Fusa stayed at 10. Then they cut them to 7 before they started. After 2 Fusa races, then they went to 5 laps. Well we now have to make races up AT BLACKHAWK May 8. Races 13-17 will be run then. Got 6th in CCS Thunderbike. Dropped sundays hwss race and switched to thunderbike because one of the AMA guys was being a total ass on the track to am's.

As for CCS, they really need to get people in charge that have a clue. So now we are going to get fucked over at BHF with shortened races to fit the RA races in. Weather problems like the fog sunday I understand, but not teh BS we did saturday. 12 races doing full cool down laps took anywheres from 36 to 54 minutes that could had been used to run 12 and 13 on saturday. No wonder teh grids are shrinking. People are getting fed up with them. Read the CCS messageboard and see how many problems are really there. www.racemotorcycles.com If there was another org that used the same tracks, most if not ALL would jump ship on CCS and head to the other one.

Yes, that was CRAP. They postponed the last two races for Sunday, and doing the math (sorry to steal your thunder Jeff) the extra cool down lap time translated into what could have been enough time to do one more race, if not the last two -- Those extra minutes add up over the course of the day.

Making racers go to the trouble of preparing for and getting to a race and then not even finishing them all is quite shitty indeed. And why? You don't need the extra cool down time...It was freakin' COLD! The tires don't even get that hot!

If you have to do make up races then they shouldn't charge additional registration fees.

I don't have much time to be typing rite now but I can tell you all I feal I got fucked at the CCS races Saturday.

I had a blast, don't get me wrong.

Somehow they mixed my Transponder # up with somebody elses name.

I finished mid pack in LWSB and my name was not on the race results.

Now I'm really pissed, I looked on the CCSRACING.com site and they didn't post my name for either the races I competed in.

LWSB and Thunderbike.

WTF? I paid 75 bucks per race and I didn't come in last in either.

I actually did pretty good in LWSB. Bastards! I got screwed!

And on top of all that they postponed LWSS. I was able to get a 75 dollar credit to be used in the future. I guess thats OK.

It was too cold to be racing. I was cold and miserable the entire weekend. LWGP sucked ass. Not sure if it was Kim in the chicane after the carousel but I almost killed myself in that damn turn when I dug my knee into the grass and it just about ripped my freaking knee from my leg. Then to add insult to injury CCS listed a lapper in front of me on the results.

Yeah, I was watching that race and Nick beat a buncha guys, so we were all checking that damn board 100 times. My opinion: I'm talking another race credit. Just my .02.

I think so, we were pitted behind the gas station, about 2 rows.

What can I do about them not posting my results?

Thats bullshit. 150 bucks in races and no results. I'm pissed!

I was working The Bend (10A) on Saturday... I saw you out there... there were quite a few riders having serious PUCKER moments but fortunately no serious injuries (I did call for an ambulance but the rider was just shaken up).

CCS was having MAJOR issues with their electronic scoring system both Friday and Saturday... Sunday was even worse - their problems were compounded by delay due to fog and a rider dumping antifreeze near the Carousel, resulting in FOUR bikes going down.

Don't be surprised if CCS revises the '05 rules to exclude ANY/ALL glycol-based coolant.

Nick,
do you remember your transponder number? I have a print out of all the lap times and results. The sheet shows about 4 riders with no names and only transponder numbers.

Funny thing is Kim, CCS at first banned Engine Ice and the other one when they first came out. They only changed after people started whining about not being able to use it for the cold part of the year. If I'm not mistaken, WERA has banned its use now.

Sorry to hear that Grasshopper. But you will find out over time this is the norm for CCS.

Grasshopper, I was across from you on sat. AM #43. It was a good decision to leave on sat night. Sun was pretty rough, I think the CCS guys had their hands full. I'll cut them some slack because they weather was brutal and they did their best. I'll see you at BHF on May 8th.
