Raced my first race of the season 5/16

I went down to "Gateway international Speedway" for a track day on Saturday. I finished the bike saturday morning so I told myself that I was NOT going to race til I got sometime in on it. Well, all of my racing friends where at the trackday, giving me crap. So, I decided to race GTU (middleweight 30 minute endurances race)which was the first race so I could make it back in time for Faster.

I was a little nervous. I got gridded in the very back, I nkew I need a good holeshot. The Green flag came out and I was gone! Got into 5th by turn one. Carried some killer speed into turn two and passed a guy on the outside coming out of two. I cmade my way though into 3rd by the end of lap one! I couldn't keep pace with the leaders. On lap three, a TZ250 got around me. I keeped pace with him for the a couple laps. I got a wheel under him in some of the faster parts but MAN! can those GP bike handle. Mid race I think I settled in too much because two more guy got around me. The three of us battled, the one guy was all over the track though, made its hard to get by him. The three of us exchanged spots a couple times. With two laps to go, we got lapped by the head expert pack of like 3 bikes, this totall screwed up are little battle. The one guy wound up way a head of us. Last lap. He was 10-15 bikes ahead. I went though turn one fast, brought him within 5-7 bikes. All day I was faster than him going from the High Banks of the nascar oval down into the last turn. So, I decided to I was going to make my move there. We come up to the that takes us on to the high bank, I made up my mind to get an awesome drive out of there to help me make my move. Where going around that turn, get on to the banking, I lay into the throttle, the rear tire starts spinning, I'm at the top of the banking, next to the wall,I stay into the throttle, then the back of the bike kicks out, I roll off, kept the bike, losed my drve into the turn where I wanted to make my move. I finished 5th. Got a plack, and $50. BONUS! I was happy.

Awesome, man. So does this mean more races in your future?

Never a bad time to climb... unless the weather is really horrible, and then you climb inside!
