usually only go camping when the track is far away and we're too cheap to pay for a hotel. but since Blackhawk is barely more than an hour away I'm guessing most people will just leave around 6-6:30 in the morning and get to the track

We'll be there the night before. Better to set up at your leisure and get a good night's sleep than to have to wake up at dark-thirty a.m., drive out to the track and have to set up. Also, getting there the night before and setting up means that if you by chance forgot something there is plenty of time to go back and get it.

Nothing like pulling in the day of, unloading all your crap and finding out right when tech opens that you've forgotten the key to your motorcycle (happened to a guy at Grattan the last time I was there).

I'm hoping to get there the night before and camp, unless the weather absolutely sucks. I get the distinct feeling I'll be working on the bike until I get the bike on the track..

Cool, that's what I was thinking. Plus I live in an apartment, and can't really leave my truck out in the parking lot with the bikes in the bed, or I won't see them in the mornin.
What time do gates close at BHF? I got my girlfriend's nephew's b-day on Sunday to attend to...

You know, getting up there the night before might not be a bad idea for a 1st timer like myself. I would just sleep in the truck. What time are some of you guys thinking about getting there on Sunday?

Can somebody please give me directions to BHF from Elmhurst? I know I could use Mapquest, but those directions aren't always the best way to go.

Thanks in advance.

I heard that you can come in at anytime. Just slide the gate open. And don't wake people up, or they will kill you!

Okay, I should be there sometime on Sunday. I'll definately need some help on Sunday night or Monday morning with the frame sliders. I got the ones that use the engine mount (motosliders). Only problem is that bolt is a serious bitch to get out. My socket kept slipping when I was trying to take it out (need 12 point sockets). Rather than ruin the bolt head I decided it was time to stop.

I've got the dremel and whatnot for the hole, just need help taking the f'n bolt out!

Nate says 65 ft-lbs in his instruction sheet, which is probably why I can't budge it! The f'n loctite red doesn't help.

6 poiunt sockets grip better than 12 point....in case you didn't know, 12 point tend to round the corners where as the 6 point grip the flat edge and less likely to slip, (sounds like you got the wrong size if a 6 point is slipping!!!!
