Memorial Day at BHF

Anyone going out to the track on Memorial Day. There are a couple different organizations there that day. LCR advanced school and a LP Open track day for licensed racers. The LCR thing is 170 bucks and the LP thing is like 80 bucks.

I think I'm just going to do the LP track day and go the cheap route.

Who's rollin, we can remember our troops while racing around the track.

I'll be there, either with the LP day or with the Visionsports school (runs in with the LP trackday)

Patryk, you can do the track day with a 'Sport Rider' license. The day costs more than it does for licensed racers, but the license is only $25.

Naw, the street group on the 10th wasn't real fast - there were maybe a couple people under 1:35, but they weren't too far under. I only got lapped by one person, so it couldn't have been too fast!

I plan on doing the LP day. It's tough to turn down a cheap track day. How does this work with the licensed racers? Do I HAVE to run in the advanced, racers spot? Or can I ride in the slower group to have more people my own pace to ride with?

Does the completion of Dave's school get you a racing license? What is the difference in instruction and price between his school and the one ran w/ CCS?

Successful completion of a Visionsports school will qualify you to purchase a CCS license. Dave's school is more of an all-day event with a broader, deeper scope... the Learning Curves licensing school is geared primarily toward attaining a racing license (school on Saturday, race on Sunday). The LCR Race Licensing school is held on Saturday in conjunction with the CCS race weekend - your on-track sessions are worked in between races, and you really only get 3 sessions on the track plus a mock race "final exam". Both are good, all depends on what your objective is.

Doc,

Let me know if you go. You don't live too far from where I live at.

The LCR crew does a good job. I'd take that one if I had a little extra cash. But I'm just going to do the LP thing and get more track time in.

Rick Bruer is a cool Cat, you'll learn alot from him and his guys.

If he wants to just do the licensing school on Saturday, it's $150.

Dang, it's only $20 difference. No brainer IMO. Is there a website to go to so I can check out the particulars? If I do go, I'll be registering the week of. I really need to get my shit together

Rick's monday school is licensed racers only (if I understand things). Super Dave (Visionsports) runs his class in with the street and sport groups. I did get a certificate when I took his class back on the tenth.

Both Dave and Rick are good guys. They maybe have a different approach to things, but it's good to have different perspectives.

As far as registering the week of, didn't appear to be much of a problem. Most of the track-day only people registered that morning. WARNING - registration was one of the most messed up things I've ever experienced. Patience is required!

Is there any way to pre-register for the LP group to avoid the termoil?

Can't you register for the L-P stuff when you register for the races??

Yeah, the racing registration is completely screwed up. I'm going to try to get there on Saturday afternoon to shell out my $400 for the weekend.

I called last year and got the impression that pre-registering wasn't really an option for the track-day only people.

Racers might be able to register when they sign up for their races, dunno.

Part of the issue on the 10th was that all the track-day people had to fill out the paperwork for their sport-rider license, and there was confusion with just how that fee was being handled with some of Rick's students who'd been at the Saturday clinic...
The registration ladies had to stop a few times for 10 minute conversations to try to figure it out. I almost told them to give up understanding what's going on, because it didn't seem like that was really a possibility for them...
