Scott's damper question

For you users of Scotts dampers, how many degrees of sweep do you set it for? What affect does more or less sweep have when fighting tankslappers?

For street riding I keep mine at the 6 o'clock position(wide sweep) unless you're riding some extreme twisties than move it to the 12 O'clock position(narrow sweep). Since their damper was originally used for motorcross some units were shipped out in the 12 o'clock position. I've left mine in the 6 position full time and have had NO complaints.

Mines set at 6-7 o'clock depending on the track.

Life has no instruction manual. Parts and labor can be impossible to find. Many go down the road with parts that are in need of service. A breakdown is eventual.

I left mine @ the stock setting but some track guys have set the sweep as low as possible. Sweep control lets you adjust the amount of degrees of damping you want from the center.

It would seem to me, as long as there is damping somewhere in the arc that the steering head goes through, that would prevent a tankslapper. Guess I'll just play with it.

yep - thats the thinking the track guys use. If anything it'll be easier to steer in a parking lot!

this for the 10R?

Are you gona cut the key if it is?

Before you do flip the Damper 180 degrees and you wont have to cut the key. Ask Jim GoFast it works exactly the same and doesn't require any mods.
