Second race of the year. Blackhawk may 29

I did pretty good in GTU the first time so thought I'd try my luck and signed up for GTU again. Well, God decided to PEE on us. Its was raining elephants and rhinoceros. So, I ran around the pits trying to find Rain tire Takeoffs. Much to my surprise, an expert hooked me up with a pair!! I get back to my pit, start taking the wheels off, the rain lets up, and my cousin tells me its suppose to stop raining by noon. GTU is schedule to run at 1:00pm. I decided to miss my practises and hold up to see what the weather was going to do. Its getting close to noon and the rain isn't stopping. So, I go with the rain tires. Then the rain stops, the track starts to dry and I'm wishing I would have held out a little longer, ,since rain tires DO NOT like the dry. Its a little past noon and it starts raining again. Bad for my cousin, good for me. My cousin and I are gridded side be side in the last row. Again, I knew I needed a good holeshot. Green flag is out and I'm off!!!! Someone in the front crashes, the pack splits and everyone gets around him. I'm back on the gas out of one and past two more on the outside of turn two and one more on the inside going into turn three. I'm now stuck behind because the track in covered in water and the guy in front of me is all over the track. I'm pissed cause I'm watching the leader disappear in the distance. It takes me three laps to get a feel for the rain tires and the wet track. I make my pass on the inside of turn three. By this time 3rd place is all but out of sight. I put my head down but he was too far away. I crossed the finish line a couple seconds behind 3rd place, won a plack, and $70 certificate. So, I used it to pre-enter Grattan June 12 for GTU.

I won $50 in my first race of the season when I placed 5th. CCS pays in GTO, GTU, GT lights and Unlimited GP.

If you were standing in the road looking towards the bikes, we would've been on the right. The blue and white SV that's in my avatar.

Oh! You were across from us! Cool! I think as the race season progresses, we'll do a better job of meeting up at the track.

And Grover -- I was talking about two different bikes. There was a blue SV pitted on our right and a red SV on our left.

Okay I think I've figured this out. The red SV was probably me. The blue one was probably NOT LBK but that other guy we were talking to after the races on Saturday. That's different than the blue SV ACROSS from everybody. And between Dave and Kim, there was ANOTHER blue SV, some guy who was ungodly fast for his second race weekend.

Jeez, no wonder I'm always in last place, too many fast SV riders!
