ok i am gonna go august 28th to blackhawks.
i wonder if i can get some questions from you guys that already done it.

it says you get a diploma:
With that diploma, you are allowed to buy a license from the race sanctioning body (racing club).

who might that club be? how long is it good for?
what is the cost for the license from what ever club, that i have to get it from?

thanks.

Ken, I wish had a nice fat doob rite now, I heard you got the hook up.

Rick Bruer will help you with all your questions, just call him. I took his advanced school Monday, it was the shit, I learned alot.

CCS is the sanctioning body.

If you buy your license its good for a calender year, and the next year you just pay for it instead of taking the class again.

Yeah... I lost the front two freaking times in turn 4 and ran right off the track. Lucky for me, it got red flagged. Did you run LWGP too? How did you do? I know Grover said he got 11th.

Yea,

I forgot I had a light mounted on my bike and they meat balled me before the race was red flagged. So when we came in after the red flag i took the light off. They were pretty pissed. If I have my low beam switch on the light is off, if the high beam switch is on the light is on. I accidently hit the switch during the race. OOPS.

I was running pretty strong and still had my brand new rain tires on and the track was starting to get dry. I was in 4th place in turn 3 and the back end stepped out and almost bucked me over the bars. 2 guys got passed me and I lost all my confidence because I had no grip anymore.

I ended up in 6th.

hey considering the conditions, 6th is pretty good man! I just about highsided myself to the fucking moon too on the restart with my 2 year old rains. I had no tread left on the right side of the rains after the race. Anyways.. I had the fucking race won until we ran into the back of the experts fighting for 4th place. Those fuckers started racing us like we have any bearing on their placement. Ended up taking 2nd. This had to be the most disappointing 2nd I ever got.

Ken, don't forget you've got a lot to do to your 9r to make it race ready. You will need full number plates, a catch can, and removing your kickstand. So guess it might be time to get that second bike you've been talking about otherwise switching back and forth is going to be even more of a pain.

If you wait until after July, the license price goes down to $75, school is always the same price.

Ken's getting into racing? To make money? We should start a poll, how many people have actually left a race weekend (after gas, tires, gate fee, entry fee, etc..) with more money than they started with?

LOL - the best way to make a small fortune racing is to start with a very large one.

Expect to spend around $15,000 - $20,000 a year if you're looking for a championship.

Catch can, belly pan, whatever you want to call it. Stock plastics don't hold any fluids. Just go buy the 10R Ken keep the 9R for the street and run that bad boy in the unlimited class.

And yeah making money at racing is pretty hard. You'd pretty much have to be expert and win almost everything you enter. Most of the time it's just helping reduce the costs. I should have some certs coming from Dunlop and would've been in good shape had I put their stickers on before the last weekend. I used the same set of tires two weekends in a row and probably would've almost had enough in certs between the two to cover tires. Instead I only have certs from this weekend.

And also Ken 19's are good and I'm not sure what the Unlimited classes are running but Lee Davis who is winning a lot of the lightweight Amatuer stuff is running about that on his SV. There are some FAST guys out there.

In fact Brian isn't that about what you run in the LWGP class?
