DO you guys want me to book more track days at blackhawks? plus cutting cost a bit!

here is the deal.....do you guys want me to book more track days at blackhawks farms.

if we keep getting 55 riders.....the cost will be able to come down now, since i got some issues paid that allows me to do these type of things, not to mention the under going of all that it takes to handle all that goes with this.

i am assuming i could get the cost down to 140-145 now per rider.
so please do me a favor...if its even worth it anymore to keep doing this.

PLEASE reply to these things cause i need to know.

1. do you guys have a good time?

2. do you consider the track days i run to be well run'd and enough measures to do the best we can to make it as safe as possible in this RISKY sport?

3. do you feel that myself and the control riders do a good job?

4. the last time if you didnt notice i did some class room time for the B group, and i am hoping that it helped some.

PLEASE be honest its the only way i can try to fix certain things to make it better for all that attend.

so please answer these questions and VOTE yes or no.
i am exspecting to see votes from all that have been coming to the CLSB track day and i want you to be totally honest, no hard feelings!

thank you, and most of all lets keep having some fun!

I voted yes. I'd definitely try to make it to all the CLSB track days my budget and time off from work would allow for.

I thought that things went a lot smoother than last summer this time 'cause we had enough people to actually run the day without having you or other members have to worry about flagging, announcing all the sessions, etc.

i liked that ALOT. also too each year i always had BLKHWK workers...just sometimes we had to cover them when they had to take a piss, this time i told em differant.

I didn't vote because I think you only wanted the people who have been to them voting but I would like to see you do more of them. I plan on doing a track day or two next year and I would definately do a clsb track day. If I could get my finances together I would be doing one this year.

My name is JB, people call me JB

Yes!! The track day you did on May 24th rocked! I can't tell you how much fun I had riding on the track. Can't wait to do it again. One thing I think you should do for the Beginner group is give everyone in the group the option of doing a controlled run-off into the grass so we know what to expect. Half joking - half serious.

The squat, brick municipal building is next to a currency exchange and a few steps from an adult video store. The bars open at 10 a.m. and close at 6:30 a.m."

not a problem for new people that havent been to my track day to vote..cause it also helps me set a planing that i need to do to make all this stuff happen for us and yet be cost effective.

i will think of how to approach that concern...i dont like to think about crashing ive only done it a few times since street riding since 20 but i will tell you, it doesnt matter how to tell where for someone to crash, the human body/brain always does it best to protect itsself.

but you know what slipped my mind...and it was like i said the 1st time ive done the B group classroom session, i didnt cover POST CRASHING, so i need to get myself a pre planned critera(sp)? plan like i do when i hold my free rider lessons.

i am sorry about that, i slept at that track, and really i decided to do that last minute..i will fix that though.

This was my 1st track day, and now I think I'm hooked! Street riding will never be the same.

1- Yes, I had a great time. Better than expected.

2- I would say yes, but I have nothing to compare it to. I never felt "unsafe" or thought things were "out of hand".

3- Yes, I think you and the CR's did a great job. I only wish that a CR would have followed me and gave me some pointers. I should have asked one to, but I didn't, so it's not a big deal.

4- The B classroom session was good. The 2 things that helped me were "don't use the rear brake" (I use it on the street all the time), and "finish your braking BEFORE you turn in" .

Overall, I thought it was run very Professional. Everything seemed to run smooth. We had professional photographers & video people there, all different types of bikes, good food, good drink, & good people. What more do you need. (Yeah, I know, we could use some sexy, scantily clad umbrella girls )

Thank you again Ken

Mike

One more thing...it would be great if you could make available timers for everyone. Or have someone timing riders as they come around. The Beginner group had no idea you could purchase and mount a timer on the bike. Although, that is probably a good thing, Beginners shouldn't be worrying about time. Just a thought.

HELL YES to all your questions.......and you did kinda cover post crash stuff(what to do right after, don't try and walk acroos the track etc.), maybe you would like to be more 'in-depth' about it?

This may replace a few things on my 'fun shit to do' list.....it is 3 rounds of golf(price wise).....but I'll manage.

I voted yes. It's a great way to get the people together. Although everybody can't make every event, most can make at least one or two a year.

And don't bother with the food stand. It will jack the price up, food selection would be limited. If you give an hour, the folks who didn't bring any can head into town to McDonalds or Wendy's.

Also yes to all ?'s. Ken, you guys did an excellent job with everything and I would sign up for many, many more days with ya! I especially thought that the CR's did an outstanding job! Got lots of feedback (much more than I saw from NESBA @ RA) and I know those guys were busting ass doing double duty.

Yes to the food stand as well. That's one less detail to stress over in a time when I prefer to be focused on my riding and the track and being prepared.

Ken, I would be happy to conduct a more 'in-depth' classroom session (or series of sessions) with the beginner group. I'm sure there were topics that we could have (should have?) explored a little more thoroughly.

ok still mixed on the food stand ill find out if it does cost us anything for them to be open..and if it doesnt...well atleast there is food there to buy.

making it an hour? honestly, that messes up the whole group time sessions...if i do a hour lunch a group gets shorted a whole session..and that isnt fair, the way i got it...EVERYONE gets the same equal riding time out there.
so i have to keep it a 1/2 hr, and its up to you guys to grab food..REMEMBER you dont have to go out every sessions if your not ready, need a break, hungry, etc...its your day...make the best choices you can with your time...there is no sense going out there when you need something to drink..cause by then your already dehydrated and running on a emtpy stomach will get you sick out there...so no need for that, please manage your self correctly.

I'd be up for it. In fact, I'd even pay a few ($10-$20) bucks more just to have it on a weekend.

Also, the control riders were a HUGE help once I managed to hook up with one.

He's right! On weekdays, the track has to be quiet by 4:30, so if you go an hour for lunch, it would mess w/ the sessions.

BHF fills up quick right Ken? so i don't really think it's up to him if we get weekends. i beleive sanctioned events, ccs, nesba, scca, etc probabblt get priority on the weekends and us private renters basicly get what;s left. (in a ut shell right?)

THIS IS A TRACK DAY,NOT A BBQ!!!!!!! 1/2 hour was fine, remember, you have 40 minutes between sessions so actually lunch was 1 hour 10 minutes!!!!!!!!!! plenty of time.

plus you can't go too in depth on stuff or you'll all be sitting around for gours and NOT riding, which is the point of the day. if Ken did all the things yuo guys said, you would have to begin at like 6 am just to discuss all the topics yuo think you need.

Ken keep it EXACTLY like you had it (except i did like the lower price), it ran PERFECT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

keep the snack shop closed. it's chaeper and better for yuo to go to white hen, 711 and geta few subs, some gatorade and granola, trail mix etc.

Big yesses on my part, even though I had to miss the 24th because of my cursed client!

I wouldn't be real big on a lot of classroom time for beginners, but then I've been a beginner for a long time. I think it's important to give beginners one good talking to to set expectations (like NESBA) and the opportunity to talk one on one with CRs and other more experienced riders.

Lunch counter - open or no is the same to me, as long as I know ahead of time that I'll want samitches.

pugsly is right, for me to get weekends might still be impossible due to how many track day we book, and due to the fact there is more higher up prioritys of clubs and races using the track on weekends....but no harm in asking
