Won't be seeing you guys at BHF

Last Saturday, as a Father's Day gift to myself, I got in on a track day at Putnam. First session, track was green and I was on new rubber. Started to pick up the pace a little too soon, apparently. Went through turn 3 (fast left hander) pretty fast and the rear tire unhooked. As I slid across the tarmac at about 90 mph I watched my beloved R6 do 15 foot cartwheels (about 5) in the air before mercifully coming to a stop.

Much damage. It is now in the hands of Matt D but will definitely NOT be ready for BHF this weekend.

Unless, of course, somebody was willing to LEND me their bike....

See you guys later...

Yeah, the important thing is I'm fine, physically. (Although I need to get the seat of my leathers patched up. Dragging that far across asphalt does a job on leathers. Even Vansons).

When I was there wiht you 2 years ago, I saw a guy pass me on the outside with cold tires and then proceed right next to me to lowside just like you did.

I remember having a couple near misses on cold tires through that turn. It was however, one of my favorite turns. A sweet combo of turns going into it.

Glad your ok...hope the poor R6 heals up quickly

That track likes to EAT R6's

I remember one of the guys that use to be around here can't remember his name though. He had just bought an R6 about a month before as a dedictated track bike, and had almost the same thing happen in 2.

I think the problem is those rumble strips, as the bike slides footpegs or whatever else catch the rumble strips as the bike exits the track, and that sky rockets the thing into the air.

That's why you keep spare frames, forks, subframes, and other tid bits around.
