Tires and heat cycles...

I'm running a set of 208GP's on the street 'cause I don't want to swap tires again at $80 for the set. I am planning on doing the Sept CLSB track day and am thinking about doing the learning curves too. My question is what exactly constitutes a heat cycle and how many should I expect to get out of a set of 208GP's? Does a quick ride to work with no lean angle heat up the tires enough to count??

Not in my opinion. The heat going into tires on the track is so far and above street use that I don't think it qualifies.

1 heat cycle is from cool to optimum operating temp and back to cool.

You'll never get them to opt temp on the street unless you ride like a bonehead and use the street as a racetrack.

I'm not crazy, my mother had me tested.

AT least two maybe three dozen heat cycles until they begin to harden. Or think of it as 3-5 trackdays.
