Woo hoo, hit my goal lap time at Putnam this weekend :P

So, I set my goal for 1:32 this weekend and I finally got down to 1:32.35 woo hoo! Yeah I know it's a slow crawl for most of you guys but I'm happy about it and that I'm finally making progress after lowsiding there a few weeks ago. Hopefully a few more weekends and I can cut another 8 or 9 seconds off of that and that should put me almost at pace with Intermediate. Slowly but surely...

So what are you Intermediate and advanced guys running out there? Like low 1:20's upper 1:10's for the intermediate group?

Wow, digging up an old thread of mine... I can't believe how happy I was over 32's hahaha... Just got back from Putnam last night and I clicked off a few 1:22.8's pretty consistantly on a slower bike. Wow, what a difference a year makes.

I didn't catch the date - I was wondering what happened that you were only doing 32s at putnam - I know you're faster than me everyplace else!

Did you get those lap times on the SV?

Yeah, this is my 2nd weekend on the bike with the new suspension (fork springs and revalve the front end, Ohlins double in the rear) and it's feeling great except for a slight lack of confidence in the front end... I tucked it 2 times this weekend (recovered thankfully), but that seemed to be more due to a shagged tire. One of those front end tucks taught me that yes, I do have to brake into turn 1 even on an SV

Putnam / Blackhawk lap times

Hey Jon,
Nice job! It's really gratifying to see what a difference accumulated seat time makes; I also set a goal for myself up at Blackhawk this weekend. I had previously run somewhere in the mid/ high twenties up there and wanted to definitively run in the low 20s consistently, so I was pretty amped when I came in after the first session and saw that I had run a bunch of 21s, 20s, and one 19! (On the M!) Unfortunately, it was downhill from there the rest of the day - the M's tires went away, the 996 is a pig, and being at Autobahn all three days the prior weekend really wore my tired ass out. Still, I was running 23 - 24s when I finally packed it in because i kept blowing my lines. So anyway, I'll see you at Joliet in a couple of weeks; couldn't stay away, of course. Wanna pit together?
