POST: Gingerman CCS

I went out to Gingerman for the final CCS race for the season.

Picked up Kimmy off the corner at 4:15 am. Drove there, flew down the expressway (no traffic at 4 am..imagine that??) Got into Michigan and had a random thought..I left the top half of my leathers in the closet . Cursed for about 10 minutes straight but kept going (Kimmy was working the tower, had to get up there). Got there, unloaded the bike and registered for the races the next day. I fully planned on running back home to get the leathers and repeat the drive the next morning. Leon (Buell, 321, cool guy) suggested I hit up Lake Country Powersports for leathers. Figured I didn't have much to lose. Dennis had a spare set that fit me. I think I only missed one session on the track day.

Magic number was 9. Had three 9th places. Grid was pretty packed for a Gingerman. Good weather/double points/Kawi, Honda money helped out.

Races were fun. I had LW supersport followed immediately by Supertwins. As usual, supertwins was an absolute blast. Raced with Tobias on the blue duc the entire time...managed 7 seconds faster than the previous day/last race. Got in front of him in turn 10 (think it's that one..right before the back straight). Knew I HAD to be last on the brakes going into 11 to make up for the back straight and front straight (I knew I'd be better through 1). Unfortunately I THOUGHT I was too late and ran WAY wide and slowed WAY down. He got past me but didn't blow by like i figured he would. I played safe after that. Last race was LWGP. I didn't keep anybody in site and run crap times (1:52s compared to 1:45:xx during Supertwins).

Looking at the results, I should place 7th LW supersport, 8th in Supertwins, and nowhere for the others since I didn't start racing GP until later in the season.

With all us twins running next year...LET THE BENCHRACING COMMENCE!

That was Saturday after riding. Woke up with serious cottenmouth and a hangover. Mickey's, beer, martinis, more beer (in about that order).

I should have put more ice in the cooler. Ended up with about 4 broken bottles of beer thanks to the Dan Ryan potholes from hell.

CCS Racers: The points have been updated. I guess this is the last time. Big congrat's to LBK, who managed to move up about 5 places in LWSupersport without even showing up for the last race. I got bumped from 8th to 10th. 8th in Supertwins and way down there for the rest of them. Dave, according to the final score you still had 130 points below 750, so you could have gone out racing a couple times.

I wish they would put those scores in some type of order. Seems to be random, and Expert GT Lights showed up two times in a row. At least the scores appeared to be the same.

Somethings screwy there I was at 670pts after the last update. So how did I manage to lose points? Whatever I wouldn't expect anything less from CCS.

You lost points, but gained position? I race on a double points weekend, with only a couple points between me and 7th, and lose 2 positions. Need to check overall points again. Of course, 8 other people beat me in LW supersport, so there could have been some people to come up at the last race.

That, plus their site says updated as of Oct. 6th so it still doesn't include the Gingerman weekend.
