It's funny how far bikes have advanced in 12 years. Now you can buy a bone stock ZX10 from your local dealer that makes roughly the same horsepower as the most powerful race bike in the world did a decade ago.... for $160,000.00 LESS!

Woa...that is one beautiful bike, but even oil changes would be a bitch. And a top end? Can't go up to the local dealership for THOSE pistons.

wow!

There is nothing firm, nothing balanced, nothing durable in all the universe. Nothing remains in its original state, each day, each hour, each moment, there is change. Change is the essence of life. Embrace change as you do life. To fight change is to live in the past.

WTF over? The ZX10 is a 1000cc 4 stroke, that Cagiva is a 498cc 2 stroke.....how can you compare them? BTW, find me a zx10 that weighs in at 286 lbs. off the showroom floor.

Ooooh, If I only had the money......

It's comparing the power of the ultimate race bike in the world vs. a mass produced street bike anyone can buy. Just about the same. No argument about the weight factor.

If you had the money, you'd be too smart to buy it. Ultra dangerous. If you ride a 2 stroke, you know what I'm talking about. No power, no power, no power, then BAM! Explosive, uncontrollable (unless you're Mic Doohan) power. Still, it might be fun, but lotsa luck getting parts for it.

You can only buy them if you have a 2005 Ducati 999R, which weighs in at around $30,000. So, the total price is about 80K or so. Of course, if you are thinking about buying them you can probably already afford any bike, so

Shit, IF I had that kinda money to blow on such a bike, Leno's collection would pale in comparison AND you'd all be riding Aprilia's on a private track once a week at no cost.

Hey Taz, funny you should mention that. I contacted a guy who has TWO of the Y2K bikes (the jet bikes) that Leno has who wanted to sell one. Bottom line: $110,000.00. So, about 40% off retail. The deal killer: Believe it or not; Gas milage. No matter how fast or slow you ride the bike, it only goes 50 miles before you have to fill it up again (and that's with an 8.5 gal. tank!). 100 large for something to ride back and forth to Strats to show off would be really dumb. But fun to think about.

You mean this Y2K bike. This picture is from the Indy dealer show four years ago.

That's the one, alright. Really not that cool looking for a $185,000.00 bike.

Sounds cool though... http://www.sportbikerider.us/index.c...cture_ID=39576
