CCS Racing @RA 4/22-24!!

Okay, it's ALMOST a month to go...but the racing urge suddenly hit me today at work. A indescribable urge to fight for umpteenth place

Who's showing up?

Dave, I'll have to submit the LWSS championship to you a bit early this year. Two of my friends are doing the most cruel, evil thing to do to a racer: Getting married on double points race weekends. I'll have to drive out to Nebraska for sure this year.

I'm there for sure, I need to find out about camping though and pit bikes. I know somewhere it said that only street legal machines were allowed to ride through the paddock area, but does that apply to racers too? Next up is camping, can you camp right up in the pit area or do you have to setup pit, then go to one of their *camping areas to camp?

Grover, do not sumbit anything yet you never know what might happen. Hey by the way do you happen to still have my radiator cap? I can't find it and our garage is such a mess right now I couldn't remember if you returned it and I misplaced it or if you forgot to return it. Anyway take a look when you get a chance, if the one on your bike is drilled for safety wire I think that's mine.

Oh a month seems so long, but it will be here before you know. Well I hope anyway. I have most of my bodywork patched, I still need to put on the new tires that's no big deal, then bleed those front brakes and hopefully have some this year. I got a new resivoir so I'm ready. Ok that was way too long, but then again it's only a month away so why shouldn't we get excited?

I've got your rad cap. Hell, I've got a couple dozen of them at work

I need to find rearsets, patch the bodywork up, clean up then repaint the tank/bodywork.

The camping rules were in the latest CCS mailing and I'm pretty sure the website has them (CCS and RAs). Tent and trailer camping have different sites. I've got friends in that area (Random Lake), and Jeremy's parents live in Elkhart Lake (if he's working that day).

Cool, when you get a chance and no rush drop that cap by.

Rearsets I would say go Vortex, since 4&6 is going to be carrying them this year trackside, that way if you need anything then always have some on hand. Otherwise if you want get woodcraft I have some spares for those, plus if you wanted to go in halves on anymore I'd be willing to do that.

If you want to work on bodywork, just let me know that's what I'm finishing up now and I have left over resin, so just go grab a package of cloth and you're golden. I'm actually putting that tank on that I bought last year, and going to attempt a spary on job instead of rattle can, but we'll see how that turns out.

I might head up that way.

You can "camp" in your paddock space. If you have an RV, I think there is an additional charge. Camping passes and tags for electrical may be purchased in the gift shop. CCS is also offering advance pit passes. Check www.roadamerica.com, www.ccsracing.com, or give Tiff a call.

Dogs were allowed a couple years ago (Jim brought his there for AMA races). That's strictly up to the track, so check their website for info.

Oh, Kimmy, you need to head up there for some racing.

I am skipping this round like I did last year. It is always a cluster fuck and usaully ice cold. Plus I am not paying $20 a lap.

This is an EXPENSIVE weekend. CCS is nuts for having a "TWIN SPRINTS" weekend at Road America, think about it, its has most expensive entrees fees (other than daytona)and we have to pay twice!!!

That's why I didn't preenter anything. If the weather report is crappy for one day I'll skip racing that day. I'll be registering at Siebken's on Thursday night. I remember the Friday morning cluster last year. I'll avoid doing that.

I'll probably be staying at the track on Friday and Saturday night but staying with a friend on Thursday night.

Oh, and the wings WILL be coming along this year as well.

Exactly. For the money you pay for the RA weekend you can pay for 2 race weekends.

Minus one.

I twisted up my knee at Supercamp yesterday afternoon and am now sporting a very stylish, 3' long leg brace and crutches courtesy of the Christiana Hospital E.R.

Gonna get an MRI and see my ortho as soon as I get back home but for now I'm out.

By the way Chris, I found a screw in my garage that worked so no worries on that one you have.
